With the exception of Trader Joe’s, groceries in New York are wayyy overpriced. So when something is on sale, well…Rice Krispies for breakfast all week it is.
I almost didn’t post this outfit selfie after noticing the trash bags in the background. But that’s what happens when you have one roommate moving out and another moving in…at the same time. Frequent moves - most definitely a New York thing.
I’m sure this isn’t just a New York thing, but have you ever seen an ice cream bar at church? Gotta love the creative guest lounge team at Liberty!
Speaking of Liberty, I’m SO excited for Girls Night In on Thursday. Finding good girl friends in New York isn’t exactly easy, so I love the opportunity to come together as women to encourage each other, build friendships, and just have fun together.
If you’re in the city and would like to join, feel free to email me. I’ll save you a seat!
Something common among New Yorkers is that most of us have moved away from the families we love. Thankfully I’m only 90 minutes away from mine, but receiving cards in the mail from my mom just to send a word of encouragement…it means the world to me, to say the least.
Cute, huh? hehe
Last but not least, one of my favorite New York things is that there are always fun events to attend, like the Men’s Health Cooking School I was invited to attend this Saturday. Celebrity chefs Daniel Holzman of The Meatball Shop, Roberto Santibanez of Fonda Restaurants and Andy Ricker of Pok Pok will be leading classes, helping students refine their cooking skills and master their favorite manly meals.
The day of instruction will be followed by an evening Graduation Party, where students will learn about Men’s Health unique perspective on guy food while enjoying cocktails and hors d’oeuvres inspired by our renowned Cooking School chefs.
I may be a chick, but I certainly don’t mind a day of cooking with the guys
And for those of you not in New York, I’m giving away one signed copy of the Guy Gourmet book!

Love cooking for my husband!
I recently moved to Boston from San Diego with my fiancé. We are living with his mother so I am somewhat limited to the groceries in the house (I don’t have a car to do my own shopping). Plus, I’m trying to utilize the ingredients that are more common/local in this area. Finally, we are getting married next June so I have about 9 months to help him lose a few pounds before the wedding and having new ideas to help him eat healthier would be great!
I cook for my boyfriend and his friends! I’m always looking for something new!
I cook for my boyfriend or it’s even better when he cooks for me!
I love cooking for my boyfriend. I send him to work with breakfast and lunch everyday, and cook dinner, as well. Luckily, he does all the dishes. It’s a win-win.
I love cooking for my boyfriend and dad. They are two amazing men that I am convinced are a rare find. They also love to eat, so my cooking makes them happy. Thank you do much for a chance!
