Oh hey there.
It feels good to be writing an actual blog post since I took most of last week off. Every so often life throws me a busy week…combined with a general lack of desire to blog. Yeah, it happens.
Things don’t look like they’ll be slowing down any time soon, but I did get to have quite the fun weekend. On Saturday Jessi and I spent 4+ hours at Ace Hotel for some meetings and work things. It’s definitely not the worst place to be cooped up in on a Saturday (especially when there’s Stumptown Coffee involved).

And then of course, Jessi and I un-winded with some much needed cupcakes. Hint: if you didn’t know Valentine’s Day is around the corner, just pay a quick visit to your local grocery store bakery.

Some other life lately highlights:
Warm Bodies, which was pretty much a cute/funny one-upper of Edward and Bella.
A very special delivery of Chobani. Can’t wait to try these new flavors!

These particularly good must-share snippets from my devo…

Oh, and then this little old thing called the Super Bowl happened. It’s no secret that I’m not the biggest football fan, but I am a fan of a good party. And I must say I think we threw a pretty good one at The Liberty.

Congratulations and all to the Ravens, but Beyonce was the real winner if you ask me. I must admit that before last night I was not her biggest fan…keyword “before.” She absolutely killed it at the halftime show and has a new fan in me.
…and just like that, it’s Monday again. Here’s to the best week ever
Who were you rooting for in the Super Bowl? Do anything else fun this weekend?

I was rooting for the 49ers :’( but I have to say that my favorite part of the event was the beginning when the Sandy Hook elementary school choir and Jennifer Hudson sang “America the Beautiful.” My next favorite part was Beyonce; the game stunk to the rafters!!!
I was rooting for the Ravens and Beyonce - so it was an awesome game! Though, after 9:00 I was clicking back and forth between it and Downton Abbey. I can’t wait to see Warm Bodies!!
We were rooting for the 49ers, because the quarterback is a grad from the University of Nevada, Reno, as my boyfriend and I are:) If you don’t mind me asking, what’s the name of the devotional you’re reading? Thanks!
I read three daily devos every day - those first two are from “God’s Promises Day by Day” and the third one is from “Jesus Calling” by Sarah Young. Another favorite of mine is “Cheque Book of the Bank of Faith” by Spurgeon
Love that you guys work on stuff at such fun venues like the Ace… I’m sure that makes things a little more enjoyable! And I love your devotionals! I’m such a planner so I have a hard time with the last one sometimes but it was a great reminder!
Thanks for sharing Gracie! I’m reading “My Upmost for His Highest” and “The Purpose-Driven Life” right now but “Purpose” is ending soon and I was looking for new ideas! The ones you’re reading sound awesome.
I’m a Jesus Calling reader too, so great! And amen, Beyonce totally dominated!! Love her and how fierce she is!!
I love Jesus Calling! Such a great devo, always speaks right to my heart! Love Chobani, you lucky gal…best package ever!
Oops. That’s me up there
So jealous of the chobani delivery, haha! Those flowers are beautiful!
I was going to ask if you had any recommendations for a devotional, but I read your comment above! Thanks for sharing!
Me and you both girl. Beyonce rocked it at the super bowl and now I’m an official fan. Too bad I can’t get “I don’t think you’re ready for this jelly” out of my head now..
I’m a first time commenter and I love love your blog! I’ve seen a lot of people lately studying Jesus Calling. What are some of you favorite things about the devo?
Hi Brooke!
I read a few different devos because I get something different out of all of them. I read Jesus Calling because it reminds me daily of the personal and intimate relationship God wants to have with me. Also, I struggle with anxiety and the readings really help with that because they speaks a lot about God’s grace and taking our burdens. With that being said, I personally view Jesus Calling as more of an inspirational read than a study!
Thank you for getting back to me. I went out and bought that devo because I’ve heard such great things about it and I love it! I love the way it’s as if God is speaking to you and it lifts me up!
You’re very welcome, so glad you’re enjoying it!
