…bet ya don’t hear those words in the same sentence often.
But hey, that’s what the past couple of days have seemed to look like for me. Even though I’m not in the industry, I’m also not one of those people who will say they hate New York Fashion Week. Sure, the city gets a little bit more busy and touristy, but isn’t that one of the things that makes New York so great? I think yes.

On Thursday night we took advantage of the festivities and celebrated Erica’s birthday. First stop – Gallow Green on the roof of the McKittrick Hotel, home of Sleep No More. I haven’t made it to Sleep No More yet (it’s definitely on my NYC bucket list), but Gallow Green definitely delivered with its theatrical, semi-creepy-yet-enchanting atmosphere.

The experience was made complete with actors roaming around and randomly striking up conversations with patrons. It was definitely unlike any rooftop (or venue, for that matter) that I’ve been to in New York. Very much recommended!
Next we enjoyed dinner right next door at Son Cubano.

We decided to split some appetizers and sides. Everything was delicious – especially the empanadas and fried plantains.

We finished out the night by stopping by a FNO party at TOY – a new restaurant in the Gansevoort Hotel – for what turned out to be a perfect night of celebrating my best friend’s birthday.

Fast forward to Saturday, where I was surrounded by models yet again. But this time the models were a dozen of my closest friends who were kind enough to help us shoot photos and a promo video for FreelyBe.

We shot it at The Guthrie Inn (next door to Earl’s Beer & Cheese and owned by our friend Adam), and it was the perfect spot! It’s a small neighborhood bar – really hip yet cozy – a great place to visit if you’re in the area.

It was a fun day, followed by grilled cheese from Earl’s (naturally) and a friend’s rooftop party later that night.
And then of course, were the cookies. All weekend I’ve been snacking on a batch of Autumn Pumpkin Cookies from 101 Gourmet Cookies for Everyone. They turned out to be almost cake-like…reminiscent of a pumpkin biscuit, sort of.

In other words, I had a perfect excuse to top the “biscuits” with Trader Joe’s Cookie Butter.
Cookie on cookie? Don’t mind if I do.

I think it’s safe to say September has been off to a really great start. But for now - it’s time to get back to the daily grind for me. Enjoy your Monday!

You absolutely HAVE to go to Sleep No More. I went back in December and it was phenomenal. Be sure to at least brush up on the plot of Macbeth before you go, though. And, if I can make a recommendation, before or after you should grab food (the chicken and waffles and the bread pudding, specifically) at the Half King, which is right around the corner from the McKittrich.
seems like a perfect weekend! I can’t WAIT to see the promo video - I’m so curious what freely be is all about!
Those pumpkin cookies look delicious! And even better with cookie butter!
One of my goals in life: find that cookie butter in Canada. Or, order some. It looks so good.
