oh, hi!

I'm the girl, Gracie. Here at GML you can follow my journey of dreaming, working, eating, loving, dancing, and blogging my way through life in NYC.

my room just got a whole lot cozier.

Now that I have a bigger room, I’ve been trying to utilize the space as much as possible – storage, seating, etc. So back in June when I moved into my new apartment, I reached out on Twitter to see if anyone happened to have a futon they were getting rid of.

Luckily for me, someone at Dorel Home Products (DHP) saw my tweet and decided to help. The next day, I received an email introducing me to their collection of stylish and very affordable futons. They were kind enough to let me have one of their best-sellers, the Metro.

The Metro came in chocolate brown, which I knew would look great with the rest of my furniture. A few weeks later the futon arrived, and after just about an hour of assembly…ta da!

Had I known about DHP Furniture, I would of definitely started my search there. I think should take a look at what they have to offer before settling for any other futon. Who needs used when you can get a new futon at such an affordable price??

What I love about the Metro is…well…that it doesn’t look like a typical futon. All of the DHP futons were really stylish, which – let’s be honest - you don’t hear often when describing futons. Another thing you don’t hear often is that futons are comfortable, but I literally couldn’t believe how comfortable mine was when I first sat down on it.

The futon folds down flat into a “bed,” which will be perfect for when I have visitors.

But then when it folds back up, it’s a cozy place to sit in my room and read a book, catch up on work, lay out my outfit options for the night (you know you do it too), or just sit back and relax after a long day.

…not to mention it has made my room almost like a little apartment in its own.

For more futon and furniture options I definitely recommend checking out the DHP website, or follow them on Twitter or Facebook.

What sort of furniture do you have in your room? How do you “cozy it up?”
