So far this weekend I’ve been trying to lay low. Sort of.
Considering I’ve had a sore throat and a low fever since yesterday morning, I prooobably should have slowed down a lot more than I did. But, there was just so much to be done!
…like save my best friend who was stuck in an elevator for 45 minutes. And by save I mean relay her text messages to the firemen.
…and make the decision to go out on Friday. Last minute outing = a jean shorts and t-shirt kinda night.
After sleeping-in on Saturday and waking up feeling under the weather, I decided I should spend the day resting and consuming mass quantities of produce.
…but then I got bored and decided to assemble some new furniture and clean the entire apartment.
I also attempted to paint over some scuff marks on my walls. Note to self: a makeup brush only serves as a good paintbrush if you WASH IT FIRST. Duh(x10), me.
And then this happened.
(Sorry for the repulsive visual. Ahem.)
That would be my sad little pinky toe. I took that as a pretty decent sign that I should really settle down and rest.
Ryan Gosling to the rescue.
Today I’m really going to try to get better and be as much of a bum as possible. Church will be the only outing of the day. Here’s to hoping I’m better by tomorrow…!
Do you find it hard to relax/lay low when you know you should?

Love your blog - love your shirt! Where did you find it?
thanks girl! a friend gave me the shirt - it’s from forever 21
I always have such a hard time “laying low”. I get bored too easily. But, sometimes it’s sooo important- especially when you’re body obviously needs the rest.
Your poor baby toe! I can’t even tell you how many times I’ve done that.
Have a nice, relaxing day! <3
Hope you feel better soon, Gracie!! And that shirt is super cute!
It’s pretty easy for me to be lazy, especially if I’m not feeling well lol. You need to curl up with a good book!
Ah! What happened to your toe?
it had a pretty intense run-in with the corner of my couch, ugh!
How did you manage to do that to your toe!?
I definitely have trouble laying low…I always find an excuse to get up and find something that needs to be done.
jammed it on the corner of my couch, which is actually a quite normal occurrence buuuut this time was bad, clearly
Poor toe! Isn’t that awful? I hate stubbing my toe more than anything. But yum - that gorgeous fruit is making me so hungry!

I definitely struggle with that. I had a friend who had to be on bedrest for months because she had a high-risk pregnancy, and I can’t IMAGINE having to lay horizontal for that long! It would drive me crazy!
Did you like Drive? I love Ryan Gosling but I did not expect for it to be gory. And I really did not like seeing Ryan with blood all over his face
I really liked it. Yes - definitely some gory parts - but I thought it was a unique take on your typical crime movie. Carey Mulligan is also one of my favorite actresses, and I’m obsessed with the soundtrack!
i hope you feel better!!!
Agreed that I adore Carey Mulligan and Ryan Gosling, but I thought the movie in general was just such a total downer! Good luck with that toe…
I hope your toe gets better!
I definitely have a hard time laying low. I get bored and demand to do things that don’t fall in the “laying low” category….
