fireworks and stuff.

Yesterday was my first 4th of July spent in New York, and it was lovely.

After a day of relaxing at home, and about a half hour searching for the perfect patriotic attire, I decided on…

…at least I went with stripes, right?

Then I headed to Canoe Studios, which my friends’ family owns. The studio is right on 26th and 11th – AKA thee perfect view of the Macy’s fireworks show.

I’ve seen a lot of fireworks in my day, but this show was unlike any other. Disney World – eat your heart out.

And what better way to end the celebration than with a little dance party?

Not to get all cheesy on you, but spending the 4th in the city was a lot more special than I thought it would be. To me, New York is the ultimate melting pot – one of the things that America is all about. And, well, I feel pretty darn proud to call this city and country home.

How did you celebrate yesterday?
