meow we’re talking.

If there’s anything that can put me in the absolute best mood ever, it’s kittens.

hagilaygfliayrgliquygiyf!!!!!!!

I love dogs, I really do. But I’ve got to say that deep down inside, I’m a cat person. Like, I never understood why “old cat lady” was a used as a derogatory term. It sounds to me like the utmost term of endearment.

Anyway, a few days ago my sister Katie began fostering these three little love muffins:

Maya, Silas, and Lucy.

Someone left them on a front porch to…well, you know :( Katie will be raising the three until Thanksgiving time, when they’ll (Lord willing) find a new home.

The best part is that since Katie already has two other cats, we’re keeping these little rascals at the family office (which is on the same property as her apartment). So I get to see them every day!!! 😀

How can you not love a little cupcake pookie meowmix purrrfect face like that?! Okay…I’m done :)

yep, more pumpkin.

In other news, I’m starting to think that the pumpkin industry should totally hire me as their spokesperson. Don’t you agree?

I mentioned the other day how I’m always left scrambling for ways to use up left over pumpkin. So why did it take me so long to realize that my favorite baked goods recipes can easily be downsized?

Picture 054

I had just about 1/2 a can of pumpkin left this time, so I combined it with 1/2 the contents of a boxed spice cake mix (a la Pumpkin Spice Cupcakes). Then I placed 6 blobs of batter on a lined baking sheet, flattened them out a bit, and added a sprinkle of sugar on top. Bake for 18 minutes at 350 degrees. The result? Pumpkin Mini Cakes. Or muffin tops. But mini cakes just sounds cuter.

…And the play with kittens all day work day begins! TA. xoxo G

So so cute! Can you keep one?? My husband and I love to look at pictures of our kitty when we first got her and she was all small and big-head and awkward looking. Gah!

I’m sure we could, but I live with my parents and my mom says she’s “too old” to have an animal in the house now (haha ugh!). I’m moving out soon enough, though, so I’m sure I’ll snag a kitty of my own then!

Those are cute, but I’m so not a cat person. I much prefer puppies and dogs. I worked at a job where the owner brought in her cats and it was the most horrible experience ever. I’m allergic and they climbed all over my desk. I actually had to clean up a hairball, which if you dislike cats, is disgusting. Needless to say that experience turned me from a dog lover to a cat hater.

    i agree :) kittens=instantaneous good mood!!!!!!
    i’m also a cat person.
cats are like, “i’ll let you know when i want you to pet me and give me attention, otherwise, back off and let me sleep.”
dogs are like, “pet me, pet me, pet me, pet me….squirrel! pet me, pet me, pet me!”
    nope. no thanks.
i’m a cat person all the way :)

Exactly!! I mean, I’ve definitely seen close bonds between man and dog, but there’s something extra special about a relationship with a cat. You have to EARN it!

I am generally not an animal person (I know-unbelievable) but as I’ve gotten older I’ve started to get a soft spot for them. Case and point-those kittens looks freaking adorable!!

And yay for the pumpkin love!! Glad to know I’m not the only one who goes through copious amounts 😀

I am more of a dog person, but I love cats too! I’m just an all-around lover of all things furry!

We’ve been looking around in local shelters to adopt a kitten for my son, so too bad you don’t live closer!

I am more of a cat person too, although I also love dogs. I live with one of each, but the dog is Ryan’s and the cat is mine. I love his adorable fluffiness and feline sensitivity!

How do you get any work done with those cuties around!? I’m a cat and a dog person, though I’m not usually partial to the small, yappy dogs.

    Great blog title!

Honestly, I am not a big cat person…at all. I like my cat and thats about it. I know you hate me for this comment;) lol
I just find cats to bne kind of gross. I like kittens but I just hate them rubbing along me and scratching and purring. It just freaks me out. lol. I loveeeee dogs. beyond love. but not to say i don’t like any cats but in general i don’t touch them. lol

Did I ever tell you about my graduating class’ weird cat obsession? We meowed at each other, fantasized about having cat superpowers, called each other kitten and when said “meow mix” at random intervals. I wish I were kidding. Actually, I don’t, because I loved our weirdness.

Though I’m more of a dog person, we have 3 cats and I still love them!! Kittens are the best :)

I’ve always unquestionably been a “dog person” and love my canine sidekick to pieces…but my family recently got a new kitten and I am COMPLETELY smitten. My dog weighs 80 pounds, so it’s a big novelty for me to have something furry around that fits nicely in my lap. 😉

  11. says

OMG. Those kittens are so adorable, and you are right, how could ANYONE not fall in love? I haven’t had cats since my divorce but before that I had two of them for 13 years. It might be time for a change…..
    😉

  12. says

I cant get enough of those kittens!! I remember when mine were that tiny!!
Oh, and love the downsizing idea…I always have just a little bit left over to use :)
