Shipping out Speakable orders is my new favorite way to start the day.

Okay fine…there’s a better way, and it’s called brunch. Even if it doesn’t “start” the day until 3pm.

A la Essex

The other day I got these Amy’s Sandwich Rounds to give a try. They’re really tasty, but really small.

If you look really closely, there’s one hidden under there…

eggs + sriracha

But it’s all good because I got the extra carbs I needed from a green smoothie.

Why do smoothies taste better in a jar…?

My summer wardrobe is growing at a much more rapid pace than most years.

But…how much do you want to bet I’ll never wear those crop tops?

Have you started getting summer clothes yet? Any colors/trends your especially loving lately?

Weekends are always a fun time, but they’re especially great now that I live within walking distance of most of my favorite places in the city.

…like St. Paul’s German Church, where we had an amazing Liberty Sisterhood gathering on Friday.

Followed by a cozy late night dinner at the Meatball Shop.

Then after a few hours of bopping around we ended up at the “neighborhood club.”

In case you missed everyone’s Instagram updates, the weather in the Northeast this weekend was per-fec-tion. No winter coat necessary!

And springy nails to match.

The West Village was doing all sorts of showing off.

We brunched 13 people strong at De Santos.

I’m thankful that Rachel likes splitting meals as much as I do. Why on earth get one entrée when you can have two?

We kicked the new week off right with a visit to the gym on Sunday morning.

(Sunglasses to cover up the post-gym roughness, ha.)

With a weekly Quest Bar restock on the way home, of course.

Spring-ish attire, day two.

Dinner of lazy folk champions.

(This was actually really good!)

Last but not last is the most special part of my weekend. This is Ayanda, the adorable little girl from Zimbabwe that I’m so blessed to sponsoring through Children’s Cup.

I’ll leave you with some inspiration for the week ahead…

What was the highlight of your weekend?

Semi-homemade (and semi-healthy) cookies…check.

Not at all homemade cookies…arguably even better.

Fall = back to all black attire.

(boots included.)

On Friday night I led a breakout session at Visionaries on Building Your Brand Online (with blogging and social media tips). It was so much fun!

Spotted during dinner: just a few minutes (a sneak peek?) of a red white & blue Freedom Tower spire.

Saturday brunchin’.

Yes Austin, you made the blog ;)

More Saturday Shenanigans.

Another great shot of the Freedom Tower, this time from Brooklyn.

Remember that time I woke up at 6:15am on a Sunday? Woof.

At least the gym was empty.

Then I hopped in the train for a nice little visit to Pennsylvania. Sunday was a great relaxing day, and at night I went to Harvest America with the ‘rents.

…where there was a random appearance from Phil from Duck Dynasty? haha.

It was a great night, only to be wrapped up by the best thing Philly has to offer.

WIZ WIT, yo.
