never too old.

The older I get, the more I realize how much of who we were as children plays into adult life. Even though I’ve matured and learned more about life and myself, deep down there’s still that inherent “Gracie” who – for the most part – is the exact same person.

Then there are the more trivial things that don’t change much at all either. Sure, there’s the updated adult-versions of everything, but there’s no denying that the kid inside of all of us never really leaves.

…like how you’re never too old to kick off a Friday night by bowling with friends.

…or never too old to enjoy macaroni and cheese for lunch. Plus, adding spinach makes it like, totally un-childish.

You’re never too old to play dress-up with a group of girl friends. Now you just make more of an event out of it.

And you’re never too old to feel like a rebel for eating frozen yogurt on a freezing cold day. Topped with as much cookies and candy as humanly possible, of course.

You’re never too old to make fun of yourself. Period.

And last but not least, you’re never too old to still get your breath taken away by a skyline…even if you see every day.

Do you still feel like a kid inside?
If you could be any age, what would it be? (I personally love where I’m at right now – 25!)

  • i loved this post! :) if i could be any age, I would be the age I am right now – just a few days short o 18. i love this stage in my life and wouldn’t trade it for anything!

  • That frozen yogurt looks so good. And adding spinach to mac and cheese totally makes it grown-up and healthy ;)

  • I’m child-like in a very adult world. I feel like it is to my advantage to work in health care with curiosity and playfulness, rather than stoicism and literalism.

  • Loveee this and it’s perfect timing for my husband’s upcoming big 3-0 birthday tomorrow! I think he’s a little in disbelief that he’s turning the big 3-0 but I swear, he acts like a 13-year-old [minus the awkward puberty haha] which I think is adorably fun :)

  • I couldn’t agree more. I quickly discovered that whenever I feel lost I should look back at who I was as a child (our purest state) to help guide me. My personality, likes, dislikes, quirks haven’t changed very much over the years!

  • I love this. And I love that I’m not the only one who gets totally captivated by something beautiful. People take beauty for granted, I feel like they just forget to look or don’t have time to just enjoy things. Shame! :)
And YES I’m still 150% a kid inside. I’m only 20 so I guess that’s not tooooo far off from still being a kid lol. But I have a feeling 23 is gonna be a good age. I also liked being 8.. i could do that again.. or 13. I was pretty cool then lol
