hanging at home.

When I visit my home in Pennsylvania, it’s tough to get me to do much of anything. All I want to do is be as lazy as possible. You’ll generally see me working all day from my laptop, wearing sweats, laying on the couch, and making trips in and out of the kitchen. Yeah, it’s not pretty.

This trip, though, has managed to be a bit more productive…mostly because it’s the longest I’ve consecutively been home since I moved almost 2 years ago.

On Tuesday I had a morning doctor’s appointment, followed by stopping by the office for a sushi lunch with the work family.

…including a quite challenging Fortune Cookie message. Well, dang.

Ironically, I then shopped more than I have in a few months. On Tuesday night my dad and I went on the hunt for a new laptop. I’ve actually been working on a itty-bitty netbook for the past 3 years, so I’m thrilled to have a brand new laptop! We ended up finding a steal of an HP at Sam’s Club. Boom.

Then yesterday my mom, Katie and I ran “errands,” which somehow turned into a shopping spree of sorts. Not sure how that happens but…it definitely did.

Even though I’ve been making it out of the house more than I usually do when I’m here, there’s nothing quite like spending evenings at home with the family – eating dinner, watching sitcoms, and reverting to our childhood selves.

What’s your favorite way to spend time with family?
And what’s the best/strangest Fortune Cookie fortune you’ve ever gotten?

so fun! I’m going to Texas to visit my family for a few days next week. I’m definitely looking forward to going to the Texas state fair and eating all sort of fried food goodness:):)

I swear all I do when I go home is lay around the house watching tv with my sister or going shopping with my mom. At least you got some work done on your laptop :) , I can’t say that I’m ever productive when I go home lol.

I went home to visit my family last weekend for the first time in a long time. There is NOTHING like being lazy with a side of homemade baked goods! :)

First of all, loving that fortune cookie message! Secondly, I couldn’t agree more. I am going to my parents house next week and absolutely cannot wait to wear leggings, relax, and do tons of Fall-related activities.

Family time is always enjoyable :) My younger brother went off to college this year and it feels empty going over to my momma’s house… Although I think she’s thoroughly enjoying the peace and quiet :P

LOVE your new banner. So perfect.

Nothing beats time at home with the fam - I BAKE and shop. The problem is I should probably add working out in there so that I can fit into my new clothes after I eat my baked goods. Hmmm.

Today it was pouring rain and cold (for the first time in several months, and yes it does rain in Southern California). We (my fiancé, our 6 month old son, and I) put on our pj’s, brought our big air mattress out into the living room along with a bunch of pillows and blankets (like we are camping out). Then we ordered a movie on pay per view and a pizza. It’s been the most wonderful and relaxing day… Just the three of us being lazy and all cozy. My son is being rocked to sleep now so I took this break to check my emails. What a great day it’s been. Maternity leave is over for me in a week so that makes this lazy day extra special : )
