only girl in world, part 6.

…who doesn’t really like chocolate all that much.

…who – despite having a deep and serious love for chick-flicks – has no desire to see The Vow.

…who refuses to listen to most dating/relationship “rules.”

…who still eats during NYFW.

…whose dad still asks her to be his Valentine. And says yes.

…who isn’t doing “Feb photo a day” on instagram.

…who buys makeup at the drugstore. Like, the 99 cent stuff.

…who lives in NYC after sincerely swearing for years that she would never be a “city girl.”

…are you with me on any of these?

I totally love cheap makeup…I honestly do not spend more than $10 on anything…even that seems SO expensive to me! I can never believe it when my friends get like $30 mascara at Sephora…WHAT?! haha

  2. says

I have no desire to see the Vow either. So many of my friends are freaking out about it.
I’m really not into Channing Tatum in general, but I usually love Rachel McAdams movies.

Agree on ‘The Vow’. I am 100% mystified as to the hype about it, there isn’t usually a hype to chick flicks…also with you on dating/relationship advice. I’ll do it my own way, thanks much :)

I saw The Vow and I was really disappointed, so trust me when I say you aren’t missing much. I agree, I don’t find Channing Tatum all that attractive. What can I say? I’m more of a Zac Efron girl. Did I mention he’ll be in a movie, based on a Nicholas Sparks book of course, called The Lucky One? I can’t wait :) Oh and I love .99 cent makeup - the Elf bronzer/blush compact rules. Clearly, I don’t abide by dating rules either since I sent a “sorry, I really don’t see this going anywhere” text on Valentine’s Day - but hey, a girl has to follow her heart right?

“I sent a “sorry, I really don’t see this going anywhere” text on Valentine’s Day” <— good for you!! i feel like so many girls blame guys for leading us on but we do the same thing, so major props for the honesty!

Aw, I love how your Dad asked you to be his Valentine! So cute! I thought I wanted to see the Vow..not so much anymore. Some of these gushy love movies are annoying…and yeah for cheap makeup! Wet ‘n Wild and ELF!

Hi Gracie! Love your blog-big fan :)

I am SO with you on the cheap drugstore makeup. (And I’m even a licensed Esthetician and Makeup artist and work at an upscale spa…shhhhhh!) I love the spendy stuff too, but why break the bank if you can save your mulah and still look hot?!

  7. says

Ok, so I actually saw the Vow last night and thought it was fantastic and so much better than people are saying! I love chick flicks and Channing actually did a good job in this one- much better than his previous movies! And as for the relationship rules, hey, some rules were meant to be broken ;)

  8. L says

Dating rules are for seventh grade! Heck yes to breaking them ;)

Is that a real fur scarf (maybe not the right word for it?) that you’re wearing in your picture?

  9. says

i’m with you on about all of them! NEVER want to see the vow.. really not a chocolate fan… i hate following “dating rules,” and am most definitely eating during NYFW! oh and of course i rock the 99 cent drug store makeup— imma poor college student.

  10. says

The Vow was actually REALLY good. Um I am the absolute worst at following dating rules! I give the whole truth up front and go crazy when girls are demanding. Ask, don’t’ demand friend also Valentine’s Day? Not my fave holiday, you should love your significant other every day if you have one. Makeup? I can do one worse I put on a few dots of bare minerals concealer and that’s it… I don’t think I’ve worn mascara, blush or lipgloss in 3 years? Oops!

I always do love these posts and I agree with you on just about everything in this one. Cheap make-up is the best! Seriously, if I end up getting the wrong shade in something, it’s not really a big deal. BUT ‘The Vow’ was actually really good, in my opinion at least. I’ve always LOVED Rachel McAdams and she doesn’t dissapoint in this. The reason I think I liked it so much was because it’s based on true events. I looked up the real story and it’s just so great to see a love like that. If you didn’t catch on, I’m somewhat of a hopeless romantic so I get easily wrapped into these kind of stories. Ha!

  13. says

Um I TOTALLY buy 99 cents stuff at the drug store, and plan on doing it 8,000 times more often once I move into the city in March. There’s NOTHING wrong with being a bit frugal :)

  14. says

I saw “The Vow” on VDay with my other half and wasn’t really impressed. I am a total chick-flick lover and despite not having any expectations [didn’t read the book] I thought it was just ehhh and he said it wasn’t too bad [aka it wasn’t lovey enough hehe]…

  15. says

I am totally with you on drugstore makeup. Maybelline mascara is the best.

However, I’m your opposite with the “Feb photo a day”. My New Year’s resolution is to take one photo a day.

  16. Maria Braganza says

Hey!! Do you realise how much publicity you have given ‘The Vow’….Im gonna watch it & you live in my favorite city in the whole world visited NYC in 2000 & 2005…big difference after 9/11
