lessons from nyc dating.

Namedropping. Just…don’t.

The guy’s friend that’s coming (for your friend) who looks like Chace Crawford does not actually exist.

Guys have the upper hand.

Guys have the upper hand because most girls don’t expect as much as they probably should.

For the most part, 35 is the new 25.

You can tell a lot about a guy by his shoes. Not everything…but a lot.

Girls – stop complaining that there are “no good guys.” There are.

Grocery stores, cafes, church, and the subway. Utilize them.

Guys know how to use the flirting accessory too, i.e. the beanie, scruff, and most notably - “just leaving the office at 12am.”

Sometimes…most of the time…it’s all about timing.

…more to come.

SO agree on the 35 is the new 25! I keep telling myself that anyway 😉

Also, I finally made your cake batter blondies last night…omg, most amazing thing!!! It is going to be so so difficult to not eat the entire pan myself…

My dream is to meet a guy at a grocery store. We’ll be reaching for the same carton of blueberries. Both of us will laugh a bit, he will of course let me take the blueberries. Yeah…I haven’t thought about this much, lol. And you are totally right about the shoes-I always take note!

Agreed! 31 is the new 21 for men lmao. My good friend told me to start hanging out in the Toronto, Cnda Subway lol or the financial district. Have a great weekend! :)

The right one is the one you never noticed before. My boyfriend and I were friends for three years before we started dating. I always told myself I’d never date him because he talks funny and has really ugly feet lol. But i’ve gotten past both those things and we’ve got a really good thing going now! he’s so patient and kind and he’s a great listener. I’ve got myself a great catch!

Also, sort of off topic…read “Marry Him” by Lori Gottlieb.

My boyfriend and I knew each other in high school (we turn 30 this year) and got really close after college. It was just this past year that we finally realized what we had could be so much more and it’s great. “The one” can really be in front of you the whole time and when the time is right, you finally notice!

    Hi Gracie,

I was wondering if you could e-mail me telling me your opinion whether you think both the boyfriend and girlfriends should split the pay for dates or if the guy should mostly pay for both. I would really appreciate your opinion.

    Sincerely,

    Michelle

      Hi Michelle!

I hate to give you a vague response, but I really do think this is something that’s a personal opinion/decision and completely depends on the two people in the relationship. Sorry if that doesn’t help you out much!

      Gracie
