I will never ask guests to take off their shoes upon entering my home. It’s insulting.
Sometimes you just have to skip right to dessert.

If a guy’s apartment has more “feng shui” than mine…well, just not a huge fan of that.
I’m officially in love with the Hell’s Kitchen Flea Market. It (almost) has too much vintage and antique jewelry for this girl to handle.
Oh. My. Edward.
I used to knock it, but I’ve become a Heytell convert. The app has done wonders for our need to verbally process things anything and everything.
I like capes.

New York City during the holidays is the most romantic place on earth.
Perfect love really does cast out fear. Thanks for that, God.
What have you learned lately?
& have you seen Breaking Dawn?? (AH.)

I learned that I love running in costume - it takes the focus off of how much I’m hurting!
Just saw breaking dawn and I loved ittttt….Kristen Stewart was really good in this one.
p.s. lovin’ your cape.

I’ve learned that a child is the greatest gift from God.
SO TRUE. I love the romance of NYC in December. Me and the boyf are heading there for an overnighter the 22nd-23rd. I literally cannot wait. Additionally, capes are the love of my life. Currently really enjoying your blog : ) Happy Monday.
I have learned that hot pink matchstick Joe’s jeans are totally acceptable to wear 😛
I have learned that working out before work [regardless of how early it is and how tired I am] is so much better than afterwards when I’m beat and have no energy….
P.S. I saw Breaking Dawn last week- mucho fabuloso!
I saw Breaking Dawn last week, and loved it! And I think I’ve recently learned that it’s perfectly acceptable to have chocolate for breakfast, and to not be so hard on myself!
I want to see Breaking Dawn SO bad. I should probably look up a bootleg on the internet. Haha.
And i love capes!!! I wish I looked good in them. I look like a drowned rat
Wah.
love your cape! where did you get it?
Marshall’s!
I love New York around Christmas time - wish I was able to get there this year!
Super cute cape! And that dessert looks delicious! I learned that when I’m stressed out and sleep deprived, I will get a migraine.
you look DARLING in your cape! I wish I lived in NYC so I could pull stuff off like that!
Thanks for the intro to Heytell! I’d never heard of it before!
The shoe thing is funny to me — I grew up in the states but here in Canada people do NOT wear shoes in other’s homes. I have brought friends to my relatives in the states and they’ve told me it’s CRAZY to keep shoes on. I am kind of indifferent. I remember Martha Stewart suggesting that you keep slippers for guests so they have something to put on without bringing dirt into your house. Only makes sense in the states!

I have that same cape in black. I can’t stop wearing it.

ha ha ah! I never knew the shoe thing was insulting…. only if they has bad socks on or smelly feet and they need an excuse to hide it
I learnt that working 6 day weeks mean that I learnt nothing this weekend as my days of are Tuesday!
…. Need to find a new job asap
NYC is PERFECT in the winter. So so romantic. Also I only ask people to take off their shoes if they’re like, covered in slush/snow/mud. Ya know.

Where I live (Canada), people ALWAYS take their shoes off in other’s homes. I don’t think I’ve ever had someone keep their shoes on, and if they did I’d be like, “take your freaking shoes off and make yourself at home!” I think in Canada it’s seen as if you keep your shoes on, you’re not looking to stay for very long… Crazy, eh?!
HeyTell is amazing. So much easier than texting!
I love your cape…I want to pull one off so badly!
I wouldn’t ever walk into someone’s house and keep my shoes on- where I grew up (not Canada) we ALWAYS took our shoes off. There’s too much nasty stuff we walk all over (like the peed on public bathrooms)… blech. However, I don’t freak out if someone chooses to leave their shoes on…
I am on the same page when it comes to taking your shoes off, or not taking your shoes off, at someone’s house. If your carpet or flooring is so nice that people can’t feel comfortable, it’s probably not a house anyone is going to visit. Second, love the cape! You definitely know how to rock it.

I’m pretty sure I found your blog originally due to your cake batter blondies recipe on Pinterest. I love reading your blog and wish I lived in such an amazing place as yourself! Keep writing. I love reading it.

Hey KB! Thanks for the kind words, you’re a doll
Haha, I grew up “not allowed” to wear my shoes in the house, so I’m sure I’ll make my guests take off their shoes when they come in my future home, as well. You just don’t know where their shoes have been ;)!
Your cape is amazing! Looove. And I’ve been the the Hell’s Kitchen flea market during one of my visits to NYC. I almost died. Words cannot describe the perfection.
I saw Breaking Dawn and was actually thoroughly impressed. In comparison with the books, this one did the best job of measuring up- in my opinion. Plus, I just love Edward and (looking at) Jacob.
I haven’t seen Breaking Dawn yet but I NEED to!!!

Where I’m from, people generally take off their shoes at someone’s house. Maybe it’s because I’m from the upper Midwest, where you’ve probably been traipsing through snow and mud. It makes it so you don’t have to mop the floor nearly as much! I live in NYC now, and I was disappointed to find that nobody here really cares about the shoe thing.
