taking care of business.

I’m a very firm supporter of working hard, playing hard.

I don’t talk much at all about my day job because…well, there’s nothing to talk about. It’s your pretty basic “office” job (only I work remotely), which takes up just about 8-10 hours of my day. And - my thing is - if I’m going to be putting in that many hours in to make living in NYC possible, you can best believe I’m going to enjoy every spare moment I have here.

…like by having a pre-party-dance-party-slash-photoshoot with Erica in our apartment.

…or by using my “lunch break” to finalize New Year’s Eve plans with Jessi.

…or by taking the time to just chill and enjoy one of my favorite hobbies.

It’s all about balance, people.

Would you say you have a good balance of work/play?

I love this post! Similar to you, I work remotely from home and it takes up the same amount of time. I live in Reno, NV, a much smaller city than NYC of course, but it’s so nice to get out on the weekends and get some fresh air. I sometimes think I don’t take the time to “play” enough though- or to take in all the opportunities my job gives me to take part in some of my favorite hobbies too!

Lately, it feels like I’ve had a heavy dose of work and little play but thankfully, it’s the holiday season and I think it’s all about to change 😀 Bring on the tacky sweater parties, good food, fun times with friends, and Christmas!

    Dear Gracie,
Please send me a crumbs cupcake… Or 12.
Or maybe just a giant one…
    Or your blondies.
    Love, Lauren.

PS. So jealous you live in New York.

Though I didn’t used to, I feel like I’ve finally started to find a good balance between work and play. It’s so important to let loose and just have fun once in a while! It sounds like that’s exactly what you did.
I can’t believe you’ve already started planning for New Years! I need to start figuring that out myself.
