only girl in the world, part 4.

…who isn’t obsessed with Pinterest. Yet.

…who says kinda rude things as terms of endearment.

…who introduces myself to every new girl I meet in group settings. It doesn’t always go well, for some reason…

…who thinks it’s more fun to look like a goof in pictures.

…can’t help but think that people are lying when they say they love to exercise. Like? Maybe. Love? Please explain.

cannot STAND Lady Gaga.

hahaha, it’s so true! I actually used to love her, but she crossed the line somewhere in there from being her naturally weird self to just trying way too hard…

haha you are so funny, girl! I am the same way with introducing myself to all the girls in a group. I just laugh it off when I get snotty looks!

Thanks for the inspiration Gracie! I am terrible at introducing myself to girls I meet. I’m awfully shy, but at the same time I give off a very independent confident attitude when meeting new people (or so I’ve been told). I’m going to try to introduce myself in those settings rather than sink into the background. Do you have any advice in coming off as more friendly and approachable?

Wish I could say I have some sort of special advice, but really I just go up to people and shake their hand/introduce myself! I figure it’s always better to break the ice right away rather than let things get weird/awkward, and 9 times out of 10 people react positively! (…but, every once in a while there’s the crazy girl(s) who already don’t like you for one reason or another :? eek)

I don’t get Pinterest. At first I thought it was really elite, but then I requested an invite and got one within about 12 seconds. What was the point of that? Now I just don’t see how it’s any different from Tumblr.

‘I miss your stupid face’ is my go-to term of endearment for my boyfriend haha! Basically this whole post describes me (except I like Gaga). My tagged pictures on Facebook are quite a sight to behold, and I definitely roll my eyes sometimes at the ‘I JUST LOOOOOOVE TO DO A 2 HOUR WORKOUT EVERY MORNING BEFORE I GO TO WORK!’ crowd.

THIS. If only girls weren’t so catty.

  5. says

I do use rude things as terms of endearment but there is a time and a place! said to the wrong person can cause serious backfire moment! lol.

I’d pick a silly picture over a posed picture any day.

I saw Lady GaGa live last year as she was really good… not a fan of the character she has made herself into… bit odd really.

    :)

I actually do love to exercise… but all of my friends think I’m a freak because of it :) I don’t ALWAYS love exercise, but the majority of the time I am happy when I have the time to work out. I think it’s a combination of: it releases endorphins, raises my self-esteem, and then I get to eat more ;). And I listen to awesome music while I’m working out which always helps!

  7. Britannie says

I like Lady Gaga because I feel like she embodies the quote from your last post :) she’s just ridiculous and weird but she owns it lol

  8. says

Nope, you’re not the only one who’s not into Lady Gaga. I’m so over HER.

I also introduce myself to other girls… Like, hello! It’s called being polite! And if they act snobby or catty, that just makes me want to be NICER to them, like they need my kindness or something.

  9. Sally says

I just requested to join pinterest yesterday and was put off by the fact that i was put on a waiting list, only to be accepted a bit later. It seemed like they’re trying to make it look soooo important that you have to be on a waiting list to get in!
And lady gaga i didn’t like since the meat dress. I have a hard time wearing things that come from animals like wool, leather,… so wearing an actual meat dress? nothing cool about that.
And last, yes i introduce myself to girls in a group too, and most of the time it’s well received. Although I have had a few “disses” :) I just shrug them off :)

  10. Sally says

oh and about the exercise, i personally don’t like it and have a hard time getting motivated to do it (not a good thing, but oh well..) But i have a friend who honestly LOVES to run. she will look up marathons and ultra marathons and go to different states to run! she just goes for a day, runs, and comes back! on her 31st birthday she asked her husband if they can run 31 miles! :) lol! she wasn’t always like this but about 4 years ago she started running and never looked back!

  11. Bethany says

You are definitely not alone on the first and last!! Haven’t jumped on the Pinterest bandwagon at all. And Lady Gaga just needs to get over herself.

  12. Gabrielle says

I had no idea what Pinterest was until this post……. But now…. I am officially addicted. IT JUST SUCKS YOU IN LIKE A VACCUUM :O

  13. Kelly tonkin says

Gracie, haven’t checked out your jawn in months but I felt the need today and I’m glad cause I loathe the lady gag herself and im glad you do as well. I remember when telephone came out that you said she puts out entertaining videos or something of that sort and that made me sad. It hurts my heart that she has such a following because I see right through her decitifulness. Did I spell that right, it’s not letting me know but anyway glad we are on the same page :)

  14. says

I don’t get the whole Pinterest thing either. I’m not obsessed and frankly have only gone to the website a couple times. And I will second loving to exercise. Who loves to exercise? I love to go skiing, and shopping, and traveling. I do NOT love exercising.

  15. says

You’re not the only girl in the world… I’m right there with you!
    - Pinterest? Not Pinterested.
    - Goofy faces are totally my thing. And make for better pics because I’m not focused on whether or not my smile is “right”
    - I don’t love to exercise, but I do love the results. There’s a Nike shirt that says “my favorite part of running is stopping” haha. Seems more realistic for most!
    - Lady Blah-ga…

  16. says

…who introduces myself to every new girl I meet in group settings. It doesn’t always go well, for some reason…

I do this too. Doesn’t go well for me either.. I have no idea why.
