a gml week in review.

It’s been a good week.

But then again, aren’t all 4-day work-weeks particularly exceptional?

Let’s rewind to Tuesday, where Erica and I braved the rain and headed to dinner at Southern Hospitality for some comfort BBQ food. I’ll be honest - knowing that my once-future husband is the owner was a draw….

…but more so was the overwhelming hope that they’d have cheesy grits.

And they did. Ohh they did.

To round out my meal I had pulled pork and a “side” salad, which was essentially the equivalent of two heads of lettuce. I’m healthy like that.

I’d definitely recommend Southern Hospitality - it’s the perfect non-pretentious-but-still-delicious food joint NYC needs and loves.

Fast forward to Wednesday night, where I enjoyed another BFF date - this time with Jessi-boo. We had plans to go “out out,” but that somehow turned into a scene straight out of a chick flick: girl talk, some tears, more laughs, and a table full of fondue at Max Brenner.

Yeah, we were those girls. It happens.

Moving on to Thursday evening, where I attended my very first Fashions Night Out. I’ve never prided myself on being a fashionista, but I did my best…

I wish I could say I at least got those boots from some hip vintage store in the East Village but…FOREVER 21 FOR LIFE, BABY.

We stopped by a few parties, including those at Ace Hotel and Warby Parker

…followed by a few hours of random frolicking around town.

(That’s us. Frolicking.)

We rounded out the night with stops at Dream Downtown and our most-frequented spot as of late, Avenue. I’ve got to say, though - despite some freebies and a celeb spotting here and there - FNO was just okay. I’ll stick with my “normal” weeknights out in NYC, thank you very much :)

…Like last night, where Jessi and I ended up in a Times Square McDonald’s eating caramel sundaes.

Oh New York, you never cease to find (sometimes bizarre) ways to leave me sleep deprived.

And now here I am – it’s nearly noon on Saturday - and I’ve already taken a 7am train to Pennsylvania, went to the dentist, and shopped at Target with Momma G. Needless to say…NAP TIME.

Enjoy your weekend, babeloves. xoxoG

Who was your favorite boy-band boy-toy?? (I was a JTT girl all the way, clearly.)

That fondue looks great. I think you should do a post of all the best places to eat and visit round NY. Looks like there are some real gems that are a must see.

A friend of mine who lives in New York is always raving about Southern Comfort. You are both making me want to try it even though I don’t live in the city!!

Ohh how fun that you got to visit JT’s restaurant! That looks like some delicious comfort food! And love that you decided to have a girls night at Max Brenner- sometimes you really just need a night of good conversation with your bestie! Glad you had fun at FNO! I went in SF and it was a blast!

Hey Dani! I usually just blow dry it halfway (mainly the front) then put it up in Goody Spin Pins and let it dry. That gives it volume and a wave! I’ve seen the spin pins at most pharmacies

Hi! Just glancing through some of your older posts and came upon this one. I too was going to marry Mr. Timberlake at one time in my life! 😉 However, we all grow and change. And I approve of his now fiance’.

On to my point, Last summer I went to Southern Hospitality-Hell’s Kitchen after a concert because… well Justin owns it and they have some pretty great food. Well, we were just hanging out and having a drink after we finished our Nachos. And the boss walked in. So… moral of the story. If you go often enough, you’ll eventually run into him :)
