july favorites.

Seeing as my last monthly-favorites post was in April, I think it’s time to review some of my favorite things from the past 30 days.

Sorry May and June, I guess you just didn’t do it for me.

July was pretty rockin’, though, so here are 7 stand-outs from this 7th month of the year.

1) FreelyBe.

No surprise here - Freely Be makes my heart the happiest it’s been in a very long time. You know when something just feels right? Well, let’s just say I’ve never been so sure of my role in something, and I’m beyond excited for what the future holds for FreelyBe and my life as part of its team.

2) mini ice cream cups.

Move over puppy chow, I have a new favorite nighttime snack.

Because isn’t eating out of a itty-bitty ice cream carton with a baby spoon just so much more fun than regular (freezer-burnt) ice cream? Of course it is.

3) obnoxious jewelry.

Ever since I was a kid I’ve been a fan of tacky, over-the-top jewelry. I used to strut around in plastic bangles and clip-on earrings, but I’ve now graduated to arguably-obnoxious jewelry of a different sort.

Maybe one day I’ll prefer simple pieces and diamonds like the rest of my gender but….actually…nah.

4) brit brit.

To me, Britney is the real queen of pop - and she doesn’t have to travel around in an egg to prove it. Each single from her new album has been better than the last, and I’m particularly loving “I Wanna Go.”

5) M83 – midnight city.

And, on a quite different end of the music spectrum, I’m slightly obsessed with M83’s new jam, “Midnight City.” I’ve been a fan of the synthie-pop band for a few years now, and it seems like their new album isn’t going to disappoint.

(Just try not to be frightened by that creature, eek.)

6) DSW.

DSW has always been my shoe-provider of choice, but this month they really pulled through for me - especially in the customer service department.dsw Not only did I snag shoes for both of the upcoming weddings I’m in, but as a member I got a rewards discount, free shipping, and I was able to use a discount code for their website briefly going down. Now THAT’S how to keep customers…and get them to blog about it 😉

7) my girlfriends.

It’s official. I have the world’s coolest chickadees in my life.

(the list goes on!)

Obviously my gal pals are a favorite all day e’ry day, but I got to spend time with each and every one of my lovebugs in July – despite living in a different state from some of them. And that makes me happy.

Your turn! What were some of your favorite things from July?
Do you prefer simple or over-the-top jewelry?

LOVE DSW. I have 30$ in coupons that I need to use. It is hard bc the closest one is a 30 min drive away!

Loving about July - walking in my first Susan G. Komen 3-Day for a Cure. It was a life changing experience.

I almost never wear jewelry, but when I do I go big. Small, understated pieces are for debutants or people in their 30s. You are neither, so keep going big.

I wish I was more into jewelry and other accessories… I just don’t have a clue what I’m doing! 😛

In July, I have eaten some pretty awesome foods. We ate our way through Chicago over the 4th, I visited my mom in Florida and ate at some of my favorite places, and I’ve eaten lots and lots of ice cream. 😉

Admittedly I am a fan of simple jewelry, but that has more to do with laziness then a conscious fashion choice.
I do have a thing for big earrings.
    I just… love them.

I love Britney! I was actually arguing with my mom about that last night. She’s not a Britney fan haha. But I love her for being able to go through so much and still make awesome music! 😀

My July favourites were raspberries, H&M, and friends!

Completely agree about Britney Spears :)

Best thing about July for me: lake night with some of my best best best work friends. That Friday night was the happiest I’ve been in months and it was the definition of amazing. Makes me smile to just think about it again :)

Although I would like to wear really trendy over the top jewelry it just doesn’t feel me…I am pretty much just a simple girl! One of my July favorites is endless vacations!

Same thing happened to me at DSW! I was $5 short of the free shipping (after the coupons and wesbite failure perk) and the lady comped it! awesome :)
