April was a good month.
Dare I say it was the best month of 2011 so far?
Here are some of my favorite things from the past 30 days.
1. becoming a resident of New York City.
…with a self-photo taken in the back of a cab to prove it, of course.

Side note: I’m just now realizing that I’ve done little-to-no explaining about how or why I decided to move. So…more on that to come!
2. an oldie-but-goodie song.
…that I’ve had stuck in my head just about every day. And don’t mind it.
3. a vegetarian meal from Candle Cafe.

4. a definitely-not vegetarian meal from Corner Bistro.
The “best burger in NYC” claims are indeed correct.

5. Rusk Str8.
Because the humidity gives my hair a very evil mind of its own. And we cannot have that.

I found Str8 at CVS for about $8, if I remember correctly.
6. Easter weekend.
Let me break it down here for a second. Last weekend turned out to be one of the most heavy weekends of my life…in a good way. You see, even though I’ve been a “Christian” for nearly my entire life, the celebration of Jesus’ death on the cross and resurrection has never been so real to me. I’ve been feeling more overwhelmed by His love and mercy in my life than ever, and constantly being reminded that He alone is enough for me. In a month that was quite frankly full of moments of uncertainty, fear, and doubt…my joy and confidence is in Christ and Christ alone!!

Was April a good month for you? What was one of your favorite things about it?

April was a lovely month! Today was actually my favorite day - a bit family gathering to celebrate birthdays, an engagement, and a pregnancy! What wonderful blessings! Hope May treats you well!
Wow, huge blessings!! So awesome
I’ve been wondering why you made the move- but thought maybe it was something you did not want to disclose on your blog. I am looking forward to hearing why!
Mostly because I’m here every day for work! But I’ll give more deets soon
April was an insanely good month for me! I found out i get to keep my teaching job for next year!!
April was not a good month for me, but I am remaining positive that May will bring good things!!
April was a good month indeed. Happy with work, my personal life, and finished up my second semester of grad school. Only 4 more to go!
April was full of changes. I said farewell to being 21, hello to 22, got my first real life job offer (right out of college! Yay!), and just graduated with a Bachelors of Science yesterday. I’d say it was a great month
April was a good month. I moved too!
Awesome! where to?
Well, I can’t deny your move is far more exciting than mine. lol. I just moved within the same city. But out of a weirdo neighbourhood/crap house into a pretty neighbourhood and nice house…
That’s still so exciting!! Moving in general is such a great way to have a fresh start in life, you know?
Hope you’re enjoying it!!
xoxo G
My hair goes crazy in the humidity too! 😛
April was stressful because of all my exams, but it was still a good month! The best thing about it was starting my summer though.
April was a good month…very busy with school and work…and it went by so fast!
I love that pic of you!
I think April was kind of a trying month for me, but it was also good because I learned a lot about myself.
I agree with this Easter… I feel the exact same way! So proud of you for moving into the city and excited for you. You’re the best Gracie! I miss you so much!

I’m so happy that you have strengthened your relationship with Christ! Isn’t it amazing to feel his love and grace? I read your blog every so often and as a fellow Christian I really admire you sharing this.
Ah, thank you for this comment, Jenni.
Excited to hear more about your move. If April was that awesome, I’m sure May will be even better!

April was pretty busy and hectic for me. But I am looking forward to the summer. And I can’t wait to hear more about your move!
April was a good month, and I love candle cafe!!
Love that pic in the cab! I’m so glad it’s May, April was a good month but I’m glad it’s even closer to summer!
Besides for the horrid NYC weather, that has FINALLY cleaned up it’s act….I had a great April.. I got a raise, I started a blog, and I went to a wine show in Atlantic City. I have try out those restaurants you posted above!! Looks yummy!

whole-heartedly agree with April being the best month so far-but let’s hope it gets beat!
congrats on the move to NYC. i’m a city girl but nyc is def too hustling and bustling for me. then again, im only ever in times square for work. the food really is soooo good though!!
hope you’re having a good time.
it’s funny, I used to feel the same way about NYC! which is why I definitely feel like God lead me here. my natural tendency would’ve been to stay far, far away…

Hello! I just found your blog and am enjoying following it. =) Looks like April was a big month for you! Moving is such a big deal, especially to a place like NYC!
For me, April was a good month: I joined a gym, started yoga, and had fun exploring my new home in TX.
Yay, thanks for reading!!

Good Friday and Easter were highlights in April for me. My church had a special service for Good Friday that helped me refocus what the true focus should be for Easter and then because of that, Sunday morning was a huge celebration!
Another highlight for me was getting my first phone call for a interview for a teaching position as well as getting my spring semester school bill taken care of unexpectedly ^_^
