grown up slumber party.

Confession: when I was younger, I never really liked slumber parties. There were a few great ones, but for the most part I was partial to my own bed.

The good news is that slumber parties are much, much better when you don’t have to worry about getting your face drawn on or your finger stuck in warm water while you’re sleeping. Just sayin’.

I spent my Friday night with these dime pieces.

I cooked. We ate!

On the menu: baked ziti, bread, and salad.

For dessert: Cake Batter Blondies and chocolate cupcakes with cream cheese frosting.

And then, of course, the typical slumber party “women stuff.”

We had plans to go into the city tomorrow morning-ish, but Mother Nature decided to have yet another temper tantrum. No big deal, though, because we changed our plans and will be heading in at night instead!

But tonight? It’s early to bed for me. Enjoy your weekend, ‘cakes! xoxo G

Did you like going to slumber parties when you were younger?

I loved sleepovers when I was younger, but could never sleep and felt miserable the next day. Your night looks like SO much fun though. Now that I have my master’s degree, I have sleep overs with some of the girls I graduated with, and those are much more fun:)

You know, I think we called them sleepovers too :P “slumber party” just seems to be the more universal term…?

I wasn’t a slumber party kind of girl either. I always preferred sleeping in my own bed,but there is nothing like spending some quality time with your girlfriends! It looks like you were a great host!

Just wanted to say that I made your cake batter blondies on NYE and have since bought a HUGE tub of rainbow sprinkles so I have all ingredients at the ready - at all times. Best dessert ever! I love you blog! Thanks. :)

I was such a homebody and mommys girl as a kid , I never liked sleepovers, My friends would always sleepover at my house, my best friend actually slept over all the time, she practically lived with us, lol!

I always had the slumber parties at MY house so everyone could sleep in my bedroom - I had a serious attachment to my bed too ;) haha!

This looks AMAZING! No slumber party is complete without nail polish and sprinkly cupcakes!

I want those blondies. The end.

I hated sleepovers as a kid, actually!! I didn’t mind the party time, but I never liked sleeping on the floor or in a strange bed, so I’d always say my parents wouldn’t let me stay or that I didn’t feel well so I could sleep in my own bed. Ha.
