February favorites.

February isn’t exactly my favorite month of the year, but I can’t say that this February was all that bad! Here are some of my favorite things from the past 28 days.

train rides.

Why didn’t anyone ever tell me how amazing public transportation is?! I seriously value being able to just sit back, relax, and arrive at my destination without having to worry about directions or traffic. And then of course there’s my train ride entertainment:

(Throw a book in there too, for good measure :))

groundhog day results.

Considering the record-breaking snow we’ve received this winter, Punxsutawney Phil knew he was going to get a beating if he saw that shadow of his. I can see it in his eyes.

dessert hummus.

…let’s just say I’ve probably eaten more garbanzo beans this month than I have over the pastever.

not caring.

Writing this post about having a “who cares” mentality taught me a lot…mainly in the sense that it forced me to practice what I preach and stop being such a worrywart.

free music.

I’ve mentioned before how I just can’t bring myself to steal music. So when I came across Last.fm’s free music downloads, I just nearly died.

Even though these (mostly indie/underground) jams are legally download-able, I still get the thrill that I’m somehow getting away with something.

Esperanza Spalding.

Beiber fans across the globe gasped in horror when their beloved tween idol lost to Esperanza Spalding at this year’s Grammy Awards.

Best New Artist, you say? I’m thinking Underdog of the Century is the more appropriate term.

$9 pasta.

…make that $9 homemade pasta dishes from Otto, New York. Enough said.

introducing spring clothes.

Because if you ask me, there are no such thing as fashion “rules.”

What spring clothes are you looking forward to wearing?

What are some of your February favorites?

I love that dress! I actually saw it at Forever 21 and thought about buying it! :D I’m looking forward to wearing some sundresses and spring tops I picked up while shopping in Buffalo.

And some of my favourite things from this month are pumpkin pancakes, brie cheese, and Panera bagels!

sometimes I wish I worked in the city solely so I could have an excuse to ride the train to work. No rush hour traffic? No need to pay attention? Having the luxury of sipping on coffee and reading the newspaper (aka, blogs or trash mags) while on your way to work? Seriously, how can you beat that?

Okay, enough rhetorical quetions. Love your feb faves!

I actually hate public transportation! But that’s mainly just because my city isn’t big enough for trains or subways, just buses. And it kills me that I have to leave an hour before work when if I had a car I would only have to leave like 15 minutes before. I loved the groundhog day results too, it gave me a little hope that this cold will end soon!

Feb is not my favorite either, but there were definitely some high points! I’m loving that dress! It kills me that I’m not allowed to shop until I move. It’s been soooo long!

Oh I miss the train SO much! I used to love getting ready for the day with some great tunes and unwinding with a book. It was like me time built right into my day.

I cannot WAIT to bust out the sundresses! However we are getting 6 inches of snow over the next two days so I think I’ll hold off. I’m looking at the bright side: I get another 2 days of wearing my sweater boots! :)

soo…I might have just spent the last hour on last.fm and you are to blame :] But, how do you download the free songs to your iPod? Can’t quite figure that out…

What I do is download the file, and then it shows up in my “downloads” file in Windows Expolorer (if you have a Mac, not sure what the equivalent of that would be…?). Then I copy and paste the file into my itunes music folder (I usually create a new folder for the artist), then I double click on the file and it automatically opens and plays in itunes (I’m pretty sure because itunes is set as my default player). After that it seems to be saved in my itunes! Hope that helps, and so glad you enjoyed last.fm as much as I did!! ;) xoxo
