Until I was about 13, I would make a colorful and festive Christmas list every year.
On the top half of a piece of printer paper I’d draw the scene of a cozy living room with gifts under the tree and stockings hung on the mantel. Peeking out of the fireplace would be Santa’s feet. I’d finish the portrait with colored pencils – darkly outlining each item and then shading it in lightly (you know what technique I’m referring to, don’t you?).
Finally, on the bottom half of the page I’d list the toys and gadgets I hoped for, such as Littlest Pet Shop and Take Care of Me Twins.
Every December since then, I’ve missed compiling my annual Christmas list. Thankfully now I have my very own blog, so I can once again wish for Christmas gifts! Unfortunately, though - at age 23 - they really are just wishes.
Gracie’s Christmas 2010 Wish List
1. Roller blades. Seriously, how fun is roller blading?! And whoever said it was “uncool” anyway? It’s my mission to bring roller blading back…just you watch.
2. A mini food processor. Because I want to make my own nut butters like all the cool kids do!
3. A snood. I wanted a snood for Christmas last year, but they were nowhere to be found (does anyone know where I can find one?).
4. An aerolatte. Not because I drink lattes, but because I just love frothed milk. Seriously.
5. An iTunes gift card. I’ve mentioned before how I don’t feel comfortable stealing music, so an iTunes gift card would certainly come in handy.
6. MAC Red. I’ve finally become confident enough to wear red lipstick out of the house, and MAC Red is the gold standard that I must acquire.
7. Adora disks (preferably a lifetime’s supply). I don’t seem to get enough calcium without a supplement and, well, chocolate is my supplement of choice.
8. Tiffany Bow Pendant. Now this would complete my collection. It’s only $1900, NBD.
I’d be lying if I said the list didn’t go on, but these days most of my “wishes” are events/opportunities rather than material goods. Butwhofallsinloveandlandstheirdreamjobinthesamemonthanyway?
What’s on your Christmas wish list?

MAC red lipstick is beautiful!!! My wishlist is similar to yours =)
I love, love, love my ‘aerolatte’… even though until this post I never knew what it was called
I’d totally rock rollerblades with you, FYI.
i rollerbladed all the way through college and not a single person thought it was very cool, sane or admirable. but i certainly did. i hope you get your rollerblades. i still have mine.
I totally agree about the food processor… I’ve broken 2 in the last year
for a snood: http://www.dorothyperkins.com, http://www.topshop.com, thelimited.com, anntaylorloft (in store)… there are a bunch, and i see them called infinity scarves more often than snoods.
Gracie, you can find a snood at Urban Outfitters — I recently purchased one there and I LOVE IT!!! It’s fantastic and I get so many compliments on it!
try there or maybe Forever 21… they seem to have less-expensive versions of many things I see at Urban.
This is what mine looks like, except mine is a mixture of blue/green/purple — http://www.urbanoutfitters.com/urban/catalog/productdetail.jsp?id=19083781&itemdescription=true&navAction=jump&search=true&isProduct=true&parentid=SEARCH+RESULTS
Ohh, thank you!!!
I love those milk frother things. THEY’re so GREAT and I am OBSESSED with mac lipsticks! Red would look so good on you!
A friend and I were talking about getting rollar blades not that long ago…maybe it’s the cool thing for this year! I want the great leg workout from it. Food processor is also on the list.
I LOVE your list! I would add a Vitamix to mine (because I desperately want one and can’t convince myself to spend the moola on myself), a new fancy schmancy camera, Garmin (mine is super old and kinda huge), and perhaps a trip to Paris for New Years Eve. I think that’s doable, don’t you????
One of my best friends is going to Paris for New Year’s…she’s leaving right after Christmas!
I have an aerolatte that has been used once — I should send it to you because we have a full blown espersso machine for all kinds of frothing
YOU ARE TOO SWEET! But I couldn’t ask you to do that!
Rollerblades?! That is an amazing addition to any Christmas list. Now I don’t know if I want rollerblades or ice skates on mine.
My number one list item was granted this week, actually, at an early Xmas gathering - gloves with little nubbies on the index finger and thumb so I can continue my Droid addition without freezing my hands off. Genius, right??
Love your list! My list isn’t really a material list, i would just adore a friend…..that happens to be a boy i like haha, that would be amazing
a girl can dream!
I’m right there with ya!!
I asked for a food processor too! I really want to use it to make homemade Larabars.
You have such a fashionable list!
I want a new camera…really badly! I also want new riding boots.
I love that bow pendent, it is so very you. I have the aerolatte, it is pretty awesome, I hope you get that you will looooove it!
I already got my present: a ticket to Florida for two weeks.
How fun!! 2 weeks?! That is amazing. Have a great time
j. crew has a great snood!
I was going to suggest J.Crew too!
Is it bad I still make a christmas list?
Love my mini chopper - but it’s time to upgrade to a big guy!
My letters to Santa were epic. I would cut out pictures of what I wanted and then do comparison shopping. For example: Glitter-n-gold Jem, available at Kmart for 10.99, ToysRUs for 8.99. Etc.
This year, I want a kindle and a keyboard for RockBand3!
I’ve been seeing snoods everywhere lately, including J. Crew and Charlotte Russe.
I want a new coat and camera! Love your list:)
Oh so you DO want that necklace? Picked it up for you last time I was at Tiffany but wasn’t really sure if it was your style…
Gahhhh I wish, haha. We’re diamondless together, but it’s all good
Mini food processors are actually only like $20 bucks though- definitely a good present from Santa (or yourself!)
I have roller blades! Billy does, too. We love them. I used to roller blade up and down the west side highway from Tribeca to Uptown. SO MUCH FUN.
Hahahaha - loved this list!
And I pretty much want (much) more then half of it, too
The American Apparel Circle Scarf is amazing…I have 2 (thanks groupon!) and I think it would qualify as a snood!
I bought rollerblades last summer and only used them 3 times :/ I’m just so bad at it. I can’t stop myself, I just crash!
I need a blender! Mine is old and can’t blend anything.
I love my Aerolatte. Hope you get one in your stocking!
youve inspired me to want to wear RED lipstick!
Love your xmas list Gracie!
Its too funny, I love stars, always have, have stars tattoo on my wrist, and as a 26th birthday present I got the diamond star tiffany necklace, I wear it pretty much EVERYDAY! I think its awesome they have that bow necklace too, trust me if you get it, you will love it, it was made for you, like the star one was made for me! xoxo
is a snood like an infinity scarf? if so, my husband got mine at Fred Meyer here in Seattle
i wore it constantly for 2 days. i only took it off when i showered and slept.
LOVE it
After about 4 years of making huge batches of nut butters, hummuses, dips, etc in my gargantuan processor, I finally bought a mini this year. It was the best decision ever- I now can make single servings of nut butter in 2 minutes, crush nuts or chocolate for toppings on cookies or oatmeal… anything, really. I got mine on sale for $49.99.
If no one buys you one, I suggest you buy it for yourself
I got an IKEA aerolatte for $1.99 No kidding. Its identical and so much cheaper. Works exactly the same. Get it there!
Ahh, no way?!? Thanks so much for letting me know!!
