Hi there, dolls! I want to take a second to sincerely thank you for the well wishes regarding my decision to move. You are too sweet! And the stories about your personal leaps of faith were so incredibly encouraging.
Yesterday was actually my first trip up to the new place. It was bitter in the sense that it was only a day trip. My parents are helping me with the official start of the move on Saturday, so until then I’d be completely furniture-less.
The trip was sweet, though, because when I walked in the door I realized that it was my apartment (or as I seem to be referring to it as my “nook”).
Even sweeter was that in addition to the kitchen and bathroom renovations that recently took place, there were also brand new stainless steel kitchen appliances installed, which I had no idea about.
This baker/eater was on cloud nine, to say the least.
I’m looking forward to stocking the cabinets, but for now this is all I’ve got…
The essentials, clearly.
Best friend Amanda (and now fellow Long-Islander) stopped by during her lunch break to see the apartment. Even though time was short, It was great to catch up…and get some veggies under my belt. Pun intended.
Being able to see a friend for only an hour is always a bittersweet rendezvous, but thankfully I’ll be seeing much more of her in the future. Saturday, in fact
After unloading the car and doing some cleaning, I hit the road early to miss rush hour. Bitter does not even begin to describe rush hour in New York. It’s even more painful than watching two episodes in a row of Bridalplasty (which, unfortunately I know that first-hand).
The one sweet thing about the drive?
The momentary view of Manhattan. I approve.
So while the pre-cursor to my move was quite a tease, it also made me even more excited about my decision. I can’t wait to go back and finish moving in!
But for now…off to work. Ta! xoxo G

Gorgeous kitchen! Good luck on your move! I love that photo of Manhattan - gorgeous!
Congrats! I’m so excited for you!
When I think of New York kitchens, I imagine the one from Julie & Julia. Yours is so much nicer - great find!
How stunning is downtown Manhattan? It’s such a great view.
I live in Queens, not *too* too far from Long Island. The best thing about living in the outer boroughs and LI is … well … it’s not Manhattan, and things like KITCHENS actually exist! Having my own kitchen has been the most amazing and liberating thing in the world for me.
I’m so happy for you!!
GAH. Can I move to New York now? Please? Anyone want to donate some cold hard cash so I can fund a life?
I love the kitchen- yay!
I’m so happy for you Gracie! What an exciting time in your life! Enjoy every minute of it!
Your kitchen is truly gorgeous! I love that you have all new appliances and granite countertops. Yee!
As a fellow Long Islander, WELCOME!
What a gorgeous little nest, lady! And obvs, we’re all drooling over that renovated kitchen of yours. Amazing.

So neat that you moved to Long Island! I’ve never been there, or NYC. (Wait, is Long Island a part of NYC? What is Manhattan? Is that different as well?! I’ve never understood all the craziness that makes up NYC!)
Long Island is not a part of NYC - it’s to the east, and sort of just out into the Atlantic! (it’d be easier if I could show you on a map, of course
). I’m really close to the city, though, about 20 minutes by car and about 30-40 via train.
