scenes from the weekend.

Weekends are always a fun time, but they’re especially great now that I live within walking distance of most of my favorite places in the city.

…like St. Paul’s German Church, where we had an amazing Liberty Sisterhood gathering on Friday.

Followed by a cozy late night dinner at the Meatball Shop.

Then after a few hours of bopping around we ended up at the “neighborhood club.”

In case you missed everyone’s Instagram updates, the weather in the Northeast this weekend was per-fec-tion. No winter coat necessary!

And springy nails to match.

The West Village was doing all sorts of showing off.

We brunched 13 people strong at De Santos.

I’m thankful that Rachel likes splitting meals as much as I do. Why on earth get one entrée when you can have two?

We kicked the new week off right with a visit to the gym on Sunday morning.

(Sunglasses to cover up the post-gym roughness, ha.)

With a weekly Quest Bar restock on the way home, of course.

Spring-ish attire, day two.

Dinner of lazy folk champions.

(This was actually really good!)

Last but not last is the most special part of my weekend. This is Ayanda, the adorable little girl from Zimbabwe that I’m so blessed to sponsoring through Children’s Cup.

I’ll leave you with some inspiration for the week ahead…

What was the highlight of your weekend?

snapshots.

PC problems. I don’t want to talk about it.

I cheated on Starburst with a Citi Bike, and must say I loved it. Well done, NYC.

Also well done by NYC – speakeasies.

My favorite special delivery came the other day.

As did a surprise special delivery from my sis :)

Cute necklaces Jessi got me as part of a MOH gift…she knows me too well.

I finally got to see her last night after two weeks!

Last but not least, I think we have a flawed Magic Bullet…

Gracie – 1. Magic Bullet – 0.

(in the mix: 1 frozen banana, mixed frozen berries, handful of kale, ground flax, almond milk)

Anyone else on a smoothie kick? What’s your favorite recipe/combo?

reader request: a full day of eats.

Back in the day, I blogged a lot more about my daily eats. I’d say it was a combination of a) being more interested in nutrition b) I cooked at home more and c) readers just seem to eat those posts up. Pun intended.

Lately I have been getting a handful of food-related questions for ask G, so I thought posting my meals here and there might be something you all might like. Yes? No? Anyway, here’s a look at what I ate yesterday.

Breakfast. A bowl of Kashi cereal topped with sliced banana, slivered almonds, some dark chocolate chips, and almond milk.

Plus a big cup of coffee…x 2.

Lunch. A variety plate of sorts: Ezekiel bread topped with a fried egg, sliced apple with cinnamon and peanut butter, some grapes, and vanilla Greek yogurt.

Snacks. Four squares of this amazingness.

A slice of cinnamon raisin Ezekiel bread topped with pumpkin cream cheese.

Dinner. A massive bowl of veggie soup topped with provolone cheese, and a big spoonful of peanut butter. AKA a lazy girl’s dinner.

Dessert. Cinnamon Roll Quest Bar, microwaved for 30 seconds. AKA cinnamon roll dough heaven.

Do you like daily food posts? Or (be honest) do you think it’s weird?
What’s your go-to “lazy” meal?
