Hello dolls! I am taking a last-minute trip out of state today, so I’ll leave you with a post from back in February. Positive reminders can never be a bad thing
5 ways to practice positivity.
I’ll admit it: Sometimes, I’m a glass-is-half-empty kind of person. It’s especially easy to get that way in the dead of winter when it’s cold, dreary, and there’s generally not much to look forward to other than work-filled weeks. But lately I’ve been realizing that it doesn’t have to be that way.
You see, life is always – I repeat always – going to have its rough patches. For me, even when things are going “perfectly,” there’s always a little something in the back of my mind that I can view as a source of anguish or stress. And I’m pretty sure that’s how it is for most people. But instead of focusing on life’s circumstances, I/we need to focus on our attitudes towards to those circumstances. Here are some of the things that have helped me change my attitude and practice positivity throughout the day.
1. Put time into your appearance.

How you look might not fix any tangible problems you may be facing, but it can definitely help with improving your mental and emotional state. I find that when I actually pick out a cute outfit and do my hair/makeup nicely, I feel confident, more positive, and ready to take on the rest of the day.
2. Take on one thing at a time.
We’ve all gone through those “when it rains, it pours” times in life. It’s so easy to try to fix everything at once, but that’s also a sure fire way to OD on stress (or cookies, depending on your drug of choice). When I have a lot on my mind, compartmentalization is key. While looking at the bigger picture isn’t always a bad thing, focusing on one thing at a time is often what helps brings down from the ledge.
3. Practice some no-stress ways to de-stress.

4. Think about something you’re looking forward to.
Sure, not every day is going to have something exciting and fun going on. But maybe there’s something coming up next week or next month that is! Right now, I’m looking forward to the holidays, starting a new job, and the weekend being around the corner. See? I’m in a better mood already ![]()
5. Talk to people.
Sometimes simply having a good conversation and relating to someone else is all I need to put life into perspective. We get so caught up in the chaos of life that sometimes we fail to cultivate relationships. But it’s those relationships that are key to…our humanity! Whether it’s a phone call with a friend or talking to someone in line at the grocery store – interacting with others can definitely spark some positivity in your day.
