scenes from the weekend.

I had an amazing time in Florida, but it’s so great to be back in New York!

I got back to the city on Saturday, and after unpacking/getting settled in, I was in need of some serious nap action. I missed my cozy room!

Candlelit naps = the best naps.

I slept a little longer than I meant to, so I had to get ready in a rush.

When in doubt, all black everything.

Then I met up with Monica and friends for a big group dinner, followed by the Jane.

Some people were already rocking their Halloween costumes, so I did my best vampire impression to fit in. See?

Sunday was pretty low key for me. Besides church at night, I spent most of the day getting caught up on work and other life stuff before the week begins.

Working on Sunday isn’t exactly ideal, but I powered through it with the Northeast’s finest…

(If you haven’t experienced Wawa, I’m truly sorry.)

And I enjoyed my favorite Smokacado wrap for lunch, as usual.

Overall, it was a great weekend, and I can’t wait for the (Halloween) week ahead!

I’ll leave you with some inspiration on this Monday…

What’s your go-to “going out” look?
Ever been to a Wawa? :)

snapshots.

Strength in weakness.

The veggie burger kick continues – this time from Fresh First. Delicious!

Followed by a (vegan) chocolate chip cookie, for good measure.

I <3 my family.
(including un-pictured dad :))

I managed to squeeze in a few elliptical workouts at our hotel gym. This one was particularly butt-kicking great.

Doesn’t everyone carry a jar of peanut butter with them when they travel…?

This.

Last but not least – an easy no-bake recipe for Salted Caramel “Trick or Treat” Bark! (my first contribution for SheKnows.com)

Happy Saturday! Any fun plans for this weekend?

florida.

It’s pretty here.

food.

From Rocco’s Tacos in Las Olas: Tableside-made guacamole…

…and veggie enchiladas. Weekly Mexican food fix - check.

For dessert I snagged a chocolate-covered Rice Krispy treat from a local candy store. I don’t think I have to explain how insanely good this was.

faith.

This isn’t exactly faith-based, but I always find the Brave Girls Club daily emails being extremely close to some of God’s promises…

(He makes all things new! Revelation 21:5)
