tuesday thought.

This is something I can definitely be guilty of. I mean hello, I have a blog that basically opens up my life to the entire world. Ha.

I’m a “verbal processor” by nature, which can definitely be a strength at times. Talking to others can help me find clarity in certain situations, get great advice, or just help me realize I’m being…well, less than rational.

But I’m learning that sometimes it’s better to shut my mouth and just…observe. Listen.
Sometimes things are better kept between two people.
Sometimes things are better kept just between God and I.

**********

Are you a verbal processor, or do you tend to keep things to yourself?

I am totally the same way- I am definitely a verbal processor. Although interestingly enough, I feel like I do a lot of talking through the things that maybe don’t really matter, and not enough talking about the really hard, important stuff. For instance, talking a lot about a silly frustration with a co-worker and not talking at all about my hopes and dreams. Does that make sense?

I’m more of a keep-it-in kind of girl, so I definitely have to make an effort to share with others. Keeping things in can be helpful, but talking things out can be so good as well! It’s definitely a journey to find the balance.

i can relate to this as well, and can feel myself spilling too much at times, or talking about things i should be praying about and working through differently. i spill everything to my BFF…and then i probably could benefit from stopping there, most often.

I was much more of a verbal processor when I was younger. However, it is my biggest pet peeve with facebook. I seriously cannot believe what I am reading sometimes. And yes, I so agree with you, some things are meant between ourselves and the person involved or God. I think I even pick my blog reads carefully even based on this….

Oh my gosh, I am SUCH a verbal processor. Like, I need to process the HELL out of it (sometimes with multiple people!) My husband on the other hand, it the exact opposite. It can be quite annoying for both of us! Thank God for moms 🙂

This is such an issue for me but I’m getting better. Whenever I’m just dying to get the words out I journal. It has helped so much!!

I’m a bit of the opposite. I’m shy by nature and tend to keep things to myself. As I’ve gotten older I’ve stepped out of my comfort zone and learned to speak up and stand up when it’s important to do so. I agree though-sometimes it’s better to just listen!

that’s great that you’ve learned to step out and speak up! I think it’s all about finding the balance of when to speak up and when to keep things to ourselves.
