I’m not sure if you’ve noticed or not, but I haven’t been doing the best job keeping up with #LEAN14 posts. Good thing it’s a year-long challenge, right?
I’ve been doing a pretty good job keeping up with my workouts, and so-so with eating healthy.
…but then again, I probably think so-so because I’m comparing myself to following Paleo, 80/10/10, or those other forms of “clean eating” that just aren’t my thing. But we won’t get into that right now 😉
ANYway, to hold myself a bit more accountable, I thought I’d start posting more of my meals like the old-school Healthy Living Blog days. I can’t promise I’ll post everything because…well, ain’t nobody got time for that. But here’s what I’ve got from this week so far.
Smoothies! No surprise there. This one included a huge handful of frozen strawberries, 1/2 a banana, and 1 cup of almond milk.
Juice Press lovin’.
Their raw oatmeal is unreal. It’s soaked in cashew cream and tastes like dessert!
The rabbit feast has continued with lots of fruit + granola.
Then I went back to my carnivorous roots. Eggs aren’t very pretty, are they?
Gotta love a good train ride snack. KIND to the rescue.
The most boring sushi ever. ‘Twas craving the simple avocado roll, what can I say?
Last but not least - a ridiculously delicious salad – spring mix, chickpeas, roasted sweet potato, avocado, and Annie’s Goddess dressing.

(If you do) when did you start reading “healthy living blogs?” What are some of your favorites?

I love the occasional eats posts! Yours was one of the first healthy living blogs I started reading, maybe back in 2009, I think? Gosh.. that was ages ago! I’m still loving all of the ones I read then pretty much, but Healthy Tipping Point is probably the one I read most often now!
Wow, thanks for being such a long time reader! 😀 xo
I went to high school with Bobbi @ NHerShoes which is a pretty popular blog (and got introduced to healthy living blogs as a whole from hers… and therefore yours at some point!) You have great eating habits and I’m jealous 😀 I’ve recently moved to Hong Kong for work and I seriously MISS Kind bars!!!! (Note to self, tell mom to include box of Kind bars in next care package 🙂
Have a great day, Gracie!!
love Bobbi!
I started reading HLBs back in 2011 during the start of my final semester in college! That was also when I started my first blog (I’ve gone through a few name changes and blogging breaks since then…)
I love the Real Life RD, and Hungry Hungry Hippie!
I can’t even remember when I started reading them…maybe 2009? Back when you were still Girl Meets Health!
love both of those blog! hehe - thanks for being such a longtime reader!!
That sushi still looks pretty good, even though it’s “boring”. I’m eating super super clean after my wild weekend of eating gross stuff all weekend! Feeling much better!
I discovered HLBs during the spring of 2011, though a lot of the blogs I read at that time are no longer updated. I actually think yours is one of the original ones I discovered!
yay, glad you found me! 😉
Looks like a delicious day of eats, especially that salad! I have some sweet potatoes in the fridge that need to be used up, that looks like the perfect way! And I’ve been reading healthy living blogs since about 2011- they are what inspired me to eat healthy and clean and leave diet food products behind! And to start my own blog!
That raw oatmeal sounds delicious! I don’t read many healthy living blogs, but I enjoy Hungry Runner Girl (her blog is more of a running blog though!)
I actually love your meal posts because they feel real and remind me of the way I eat. No crazy restrictions, no missing out on events just because they aren’t serving diet-friendly food…
I’ve been kind of so-so with eating recently too (and I couldn’t agree with your comparison statement- I’m in the same boat) but have been trying to do better. Smoothies and juices have been my jam lately. I can’t get enough!
Oh, and that oatmeal sounds heavenly.
xo
with you on the juice and smoothies - so refreshing and yummy!
I love meal posts because it gives me new ideas! If I do catch myself comparing though I cut back. My blog started as an HLB but now I’m not quite sure- more of a life blog and I’m ok with that! 🙂
word - no need for blog titles 😉
None of those labels are really my thing, either. Everything looks delicious to me! I started reading HLB’s about 3 years ago, which made me want to blog!
glad you started blogging - I like youuuu 😀
i find your site using my new stuff i bought last week, your blog made me super starve, mouth watery! I LOVE IT! <3 Thank you so much it really helps me and your viewers too 🙂
Raw oatmeal …. interesting. Do you think I’d like it?
I let you taste it once and you didn’t like it haha
