Well hello there! Thanks for being so understanding of my little (less than a week-long) break. If I’m being honest, I enjoyed it more than I thought I would, haha.
But…I’m back! And here’s a glimpse of my weekend
**********
On Saturday two of my favorite people made the vow to spend the rest of their lives together.
It was such a special day!
Erica and I left the city early on Saturday morning by way of Zipcar.
Without planning, we ended up in matching pink dresses and orange nails, hehe.
(I wore the dress you all helped me choose via Instagram back in March!)
Our first stop was the beautiful ceremony at Amanda and Justin’s church in Bethpage, New York.
After the ceremony we headed over to our hotel to check in, then continued to the reception at Raphael Winery on the North Fork of Long Island. It was absolutely stunning there.
For almost 7 hours we ate, drank, danced, and celebrated the night away. Everything about the reception was perfect. The cocktail hour was the best I’ve ever experienced with about a dozen of different food and drink stations.
Then we headed into the dining area for an amazing meal. It was easily the best food I’ve ever had at a wedding.
After dinner and speeches we headed back to the main area where the party really got started, complete with a live band. It was so much fun!
I was glad I had at least some room for dessert because in addition to the wedding cake, there was a selection of about 20 other desserts. My sweet tooth was very, very happy.
Seven hours of reception fun later, Erica and I headed back to our hotel and passed out for a much needed 9 hours of sleep. Then on Sunday we hopped back in our Zipcar and made it back to the city by noon.
It was such a perfect weekend! Not only was it amazing seeing my friends get married, but it was great to have a little weekend escape from the city with Erica.
…but now, back to the daily grind 😉 Enjoy your Monday!

What was the last wedding you went to? What’s your favorite part of weddings?

I love your dress! And that wedding looks like so much fun
Looks like you had a great weekend! Glad to see that you’re back to blogging.
Wow! That reception looks so amazing!! And the sweets … yea, I want the sweets 😉
It looks like a beautiful wedding!! So much fun!
Maybe it’s because I work for a bridal magazine but there’s just something about weddings that I adore. Nothing compares to seeing and celebrating love.
I’m glad you had such a fun weekend and congratulations to the beautiful couple!
xoxo
The last wedding I went to was for my friend Sarah, and her husband, Ryan. It was in a tiny, rustic church in Cheyenne, WY and it was the most romantic wedding I’ve ever been to (and I’ve been married twice!). The pews were draped with strips of burlap and there were small mason jars hanging from the ends, each with a battery-operated tea light candle inside.
Guests arrived in jeans, plaid shirts and bolo ties. Sarah was GORGEOUS in her dress and Ryan was so handsome in his tux. Their daughter was their flower girl; it was magical!
They had their reception in their home and it all turned out beautifully. They just celebrated their one year anniversary on Easter Sunday. Yay!
PS-I really want to sample your dessert plate. *drool*
Looks incredible! I love the idea of a winery wedding!
As one of the guests at the wedding, I can tell you that it was off the chain. Good music, great food, and amazing people. One. Awesome. Night.
The venue and food look spectacular.
