Most of the time, life in New York can be summed up like this.
As much as I like to try, it’s not always easy to find balance living here. Instead, I find myself go-go-going for weeks at a time, and then will get burnt out and need a few days to slow down and get life back in order. So far this week has been just that.
In addition to getting caught up with the important things like finances, errands, etc., I’ve also been able to get back on track with things that have been easy to put off.
…like reading at least one of the three books I’m in.

…and Jessi and I finally putting together a futon that has been in our closet for two months.

…enjoying healthy, homemade meals/smoothies.

(HELLO Cake Batter protein powder! Found this at Vitamin Shoppe.)
Yesterday I even found the time to go to the park to pray, journal, and soak in the gorgeous spring weather.

Things are going to pick back up starting tonight with a special FreelyBe Karaoke party (yay!), a busy weekend, and then my trip to LA next week. Needless to say, I’m glad I got these few chill days!
As usual, I’ve leave you with a snippet from my devo from the other day…

Do your weeks usually have the same routine/balance or does it vary?
What book(s) are you reading right now?

WHAT? Cake batter protein powder?! I’m looking forward to a review!
I was skeptical but it REALLY tastes like cake batter! Definitely recommend it!
Love the quote from your devotional! It is just what I needed to read today.
Thanks Gracie!
xx
Ah, thanks for letting me know that
I really needed it too so wanted to share!
Girl, I feel ya. Sometimes I’m so go-go-go and over-scheduled that I barely have a second to breathe. I have to admit that I generally like it that way but due to my health I’ve scaled back and I’m also seeing the good in that. And I always love it when you post devotions!
Relaxing days are the best
How did you prepare your sweet potatoes? They look delicious
I cut it up and microwaved in a bowl with a splash of water for about 5 minutes, then I sauteed it in a pan with olive oil and spices until they got crispy on the outside
Oh, your relaxing park recharge-your-batteries looks like a great idea! And that photo of the page of the book = <3
I wish I could find the time to go to the park!
Love John Eldridge - and his co-authored book with his wife, Captivating, is oh so good
Yes, love Captivating!
Gracie, I really love your devotional clips at the end of the posts. They have really been getting me through a difficult time. Thank you
Hey Megan, thanks for letting me know that. Sending prayers your way!
thank you

As a self proclaimed nerd, I must know what the other two books are. I am ALWAYS reading and love getting good recommendations.
Battlefield of the Mind by Joyce Meyer and Spirit Wars by Kris Vallatton!
I love the Birthday Cake flavor protein powder from About Time but that flavor looks good!
where/what is About Time?
Finding the time to take a step back and breathe is so rare and having a day to relax is exactly what we all need sometimes. I’ve learned to appreciate them more and more as I get older…
And yay for heading to the west coast! The weather is amazing here right now. Where in LA will you be? Have a safe & fun trip!
I actually have no idea in LA where I’ll be, haha! Staying with a friend of a friend
I’m a teacher so my routine is pretty structured. Sometimes I wish for a week with a little variety, but at least summer is just around the corner!
