Sometimes my work weeks are filled with fun and exciting things.
Events, dinners with friends, late nights out, and the like.
This week, though, I’m trying to take it a bit easy. Every so often my 8-9 hour work days (with at least 1-2 meetings each day) catch up with me, so I need to make a conscience effort to not over-do it. So on those weeks…like this particular one…I rely on the little pleasures of life.
…like my morning devotionals, as usual.

…and spending some extra time getting my journal on.

…or receiving a belated birthday gift from my lovely sister.
(How cute is this necklace?! Thanks Katie :))

…enjoying my favorite quality daytime TV shows.
…spoiling myself with Seamless delivery (a la Blossom Du Jour).
…working on my fitness. Barely.

…and having a much needed catch-up evening with one of my best friends.

What little pleasures have you enjoyed so far this week?

I'm the girl, Gracie Gordon. Here at GML you can follow my journey of dreaming, working, eating, loving, and blogging my way through life in NYC.

Hi Gracie! What devotional do you use? I’m in the market for a good one, or even an online one if you have any recs!
Hey lady! I read three short daily ones:
1) “God’s Promises Day by Day”
2) “Jesus Calling” by Sarah Young
3) “Cheque Book of the Bank of Faith” by Charles Spurgeon
I also follow the daily Scripture reading found in “Our Daily Bread” (all found here as well: http://odb.org/)
Hope that helps!
p.s. in this post that first one is from God’s Promises Day by Day and the second one is from Cheque Book!
That does! I always enjoy the portions in your pictures and have really worked to expand my quiet time in the past few weeks. Thank you!
oh good, you are so welcome
have a good weekend lady!
Ahhh…Blossom…
That has to be some of my favorite food in NYC. The actual restaurant is unbelievable but, since it’s typically jam-packed at all hours, I tend to stick with Blossom Du’Jour. Mmm…
I need to make another New York trip soon!
It sounds like you had a perfect week. You definitely deserved some “me” time. (:
I’ve never been to the actual restaurant, dying to try it!
I’ve been not feeling guilty about buying coffee everyday because I’m out of beans.
It’s nice to not make my own once in awhile.
I’ve enjoyed lots of little things this week. Extra cups of coffee, early morning blog reading, late night snuggle sessions with the b-friend, and a glass or three of wine here and there
Thank you for posting that picture of your devotional. I needed to hear/be reminded of this.
Naomi, you are so welcome! thanks for letting me know as i’m never sure how they’ll be received.
have a great day lady
