what i learned this weekend, 13.

Being on vacation - and I mean really being on vacation - is an art form.

I always thought it was kind of annoying when people called fruit “nature’s candy”…until now.

Same thing goes for crossword puzzles being “brain exercise.” Ahem.

Tosh.0 is my new favorite TV show / crush. (ew. refer to comments)

Sometimes, you need a week of letting yourself go. Completely.
…even if that means resembling Samara from The Ring.

I love my family so much it’s ridiculous.
And I may or may not be considering coming up with a strategy to get them to all move to NY.

No matter what the anxiety or problem may be, taking things “one day at a time” is almost always the answer.

I’ve been trying out a lot of new recipes this weekend. I’ve been slacking in the meal department lately, so it was about time I start making full meals again! Yesterday I tried making homemade breaded chicken strips for the first time and this morning I made berry protein pancakes. Yum!

Yep, love this post. I spent the last month in california and learned a TON there. I came home yesterday and it really does feel good to be back :)

I’m really confused about your sudden ‘love’ for Tosh after the controversy with his comments. But why should I be surprised. You seem to love stirring up controversy. It is too bad that I will not have to stop following your blog.

I feel the same way about my family and Los Angeles. I’m doing everything in my power to get them to move down here. My parents and my sister are my best friends- it would be amazing to have them closer!
I learned that people really appreciate when you follow through. There are so many flakes out there and when a person sticks to their word it says a lot about them.

I have had similar revelations lately about fruit being nature’s candy and taking things one day at a time. It always annoyed me when people said that, and then I compared it to a delicious chocolate candy and thought “HA! suckas.” but now it’s growing on me, especially fresh peaches.

Sounds like you’ve been having a really relaxing time at home with your family- something we all need sometimes! And taking it one day at a time is something I struggle with but am constantly working on! And eek I had no idea about the Tosh thing either!

Just read the links in the comments…I was never a big fan of Tosh, but wow - that is just awful. I realize a lot of people look at comedy as trying to present the largest shock value possible, but that is just crossing a line.

Tosh did apologize for the comment but it was hardly a sincere one. In this day, comedians almost have to cross the line in order to get ahead. I, however, do applaud the girl for standing up for what is right.
