While I admit that I’m on my way to becoming a bit of a Hamptons snob, there will never be anything quite like summers at the Jersey Shore.

Growing up my summers were spent in Cape May - playing all day on the beach, riding bikes around town, and evening trips to the Wildwood boardwalk for rides and Mack’s Pizza. Over the past few years my family has relocated to the Stone Harbor area. I wish I could spend more time here during the summer like I used to, but just being able to escape here for a few days is all I need to get my dose of Jersey.

…and my dose of Dairy Queen. Seriously New York - why in the world don’t you offer my beloved home of the Blizzard??

I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t actually locked in my room working all day (the life of an entrepreneur/hustler), but just being here brings me back to my childhood and what summer is all about.
I’m not exactly sure when I’m headed back to the city, so I’m just going to soak in the time with my family as much as possible.
Oh, and this.

What place brings you back to your childhood? Ever been to NJ?

We used to go to Ocean City, Maryland in the summers. We also went to Disney World several times as a kid. I have some good memories with Micky and Minnie. 😉
I was born and raised in Jersey, and still live there today! (Right outside the city.) It’s my favorite place on earth, and it makes me cringe when people hate on it. Your photos are beautiful!
Ohh your time in the Hamptons has sounded fabulous but Jersey looks pretty good too! I admit that I tend to think of NJ only as the home to Jersey Shore and RH of NJ, but it looks like a beautiful place! How fun that you got to go to the coast every summer!
We used to camp at a place in NY called Moose Beach. Being a family of five with dad as the solo bread winner, we’d pack a weeks worth of clothes and food and hit the road toward this little hideaway about an hour from home.
I haven’t been there in years, but I had some amazing times there with my family.
I’m actually going to SH in two weekends!
My family goes camping for a week every August - usually in different places, since before I was born. Whenever I get near any campground I’m instantly reminiscing.
I love Mack’s pizza! Just thinking about it gets me nostalgic for being a kid on the boardwalk there in the summer
I went to Cape May last year for the first time and I love it, what a cute little town. Wildwood was neat too, “watch the tramcar please”
My mom is from Minnesota and growing up we would go back every summer and enjoy time on the lake and jump off the boat and be in our bathing suits all day long. I still go back and love it every summer.
Aww, lovely photos!
My summers as a child were largely spent in cape may/ocean city as well. Cape May is such a gorgeous seaside town, I haven’t been there in years but always miss biking around and relaxing on the beach.
Oh my gosh, I’m from Cape May! I just relocated to Georgia after being born and raised there for 22 years.. Cape May definitely has some of the best beaches in America!
I’m from Daytona Beach so I’m let’s just say I’m very familiar with beach towns and the trashy stores that go along with them. But my mind was blown when my step dad took us to the boardwalk. I think we went to Wildwood and I was like we have to walk this far to get to the actual water? And then I got some octopus looking stings on my legs when I was in the water BUT the pizza was very good. Needless to say I don’t think I’m the boardwalk type of girl, I’d much prefer your scenic and no so commercialized version of NJ.
blizzards and sunsets….sounds like a perfect summer night
Sadly I have only been to a sketch beach in NJ, I clearly need to visit again!

I’m never been to NJ but I would have to say that San Antonio or the gulf shores of TX bring me back to my childhood

Born & raised in NJ!!!! It’s crazy how small of a state it is, but where I run (just 25-minutes from where I live, which is closer to the city), there are horses and land, I swear, you’d think you were in VT.
