What do you get when you combine the best local food vendors in New York, hundreds of fun people you’d probably want to be friends with, and a panoramic view of the Manhattan skyline?
The Brooklyn Flea Smorgasburg, of course.

Smorgasburg is a food market that takes place right on the Williamsburg waterfront (between North 6th and North 7th Street) every Saturday from 11am to 6pm. There you’ll find stand after stand of just about every food you could want from some of the city’s best vendors.
Jessi and I went this past Saturday, and there were so many great choices it took us about 20 minutes before deciding on Fish & Chips from Handsome Hank’s.

For $10 we I split a huge serving of the freshly-fried goodness.
And for dessert - a Goodwich from The Good Batch.
Oh ya know, just vanilla ice cream sandwiched between two oat chocolate chunk cookies with drizzled fudge and sea salt.
Jessi suggested we make a mission out of visiting Smorgasburg every weekend that we’re in the city this spring and summer so we can grub our way through every stand. Mission gladly accepted.

I would have skipped lunch and eaten two of those ice cream sandwiches!!
Yum!!
Giant food festivals like this are the best! I get excited whenever the food truck bazaar or arts markets come through Orlando - although I get too befuddled by so many amazing options all in one place that it’s hard to not overstuff myself!
This sounds like so much fun! I am definitely going to go
Yum! I’m definitely going to this when I return to NYC in the summer. It sounds delicious! I love when there are events that aggregate all different food vendors, so much better than racing all over the city for them.
That ice cream sandwich looks great, love the untraditional cookie
How fun! Looks like you need to try Laughter and Lemon from The Good Batch next time, you know since it sold out when you were there. What a beautiful day and beautiful view.
Omigosh this sounds like such a fun event! That ice cream sandwich looks absolutely fabulous!! In SF we have a similar event called Off the Grid, where there is live music and food trucks galore! I’ve only been once but this is a good reminder to go again! Deciding which truck to try is always the hard part!

i like the penmanship of handsome hank
this smorgasboard reminds me of the show “the great foodtruck race” or something
Smorgasburg is the best thing that I experienced in Williamsburg! We nabbed a few goodies and toted them to the Brooklyn Brewery, and it was a banner day.
