grub over club.

For the first time in quite a while, I took it really easy this weekend.

…and by “took it easy” I mean I didn’t go out at all. I came pretty close on Friday night before deciding that staying in my pajamas and cozy bed just sounded so much more appealing.

On Saturday Jessi and I braved the snow to frolick around the city…and essentially grub all day long. We started at our favorite Saturday Brunch spot, Elmo, with enough comfort food to feed a small army…

…and later nachos + Chocolate Peanut Butter Pie at Bubby’s.

(yeah…we don’t mess around.)

In between we managed to spend a few hours at Ella Cafe in Williamsburg – once again to discuss the (epically exciting) changes coming for Freely Be. Oh, and carved out a few minutes for a photo shoot, naturally.

By the end of the clearly exhausting day we decided to call it another early night. Now I’m off to enjoy this gorgeous Sunday. Ta ta, friends. xoxo G

What have you been up to this weekend? Did you get snow too?

We didn’t get any snow…instead we got ice :( Ughhh it took me 30 minutes to scrape my car out! I laid low on Friday night, but last night I went out for dinner & drinks to celebrate 2 birthdays :) Margaritas + portobello mushroom tacos + amazing atmosphere + good friends = perfect night :)

We gots lots of snow but I still managed to go out last night. My weekends are usually pretty chill so it was fun to go out and party a bit. And my plans included a cupcake-martini-party. How in the world could I turn that down?!

How do you like Williamsburg? I’m moving to New York this year and I am STRESSED about where I want to live! Williamsburg is one place on my MAYBE list of neighborhoods… It seems hipster-y and maybe a little cheaper than like Downtown Brooklyn? PS that comfort food looks AMAZING!!! Maybe I’ll just move next door to that place… ;-)

Hey Brandy! Williamsburg is great - tons of great shops and restaurants, and definitely “hipster central” haha. I personally wouldn’t want to live there just because I’m in love with Manhattan, and the rent in Williamsburg is actually comparable to Manhattan these days. I’m pretty sure you can find something for cheaper on the outskirts, though, and the commute into the city isn’t bad at all. The only problem with the commute is whether or not you’d be traveling via subway late at night because the trains are often messed up (there almost always seems to be some sort of issue or work being done on the L!).

Hope that helps! Let me know if you have any more questions :) - Gracie

Oh wow I actually didn’t know it was comparable in terms of rent. See how much I have to learn? ;-) I fell in love with Brooklyn Heights when I last visited, so maybe I’ll just stick to my gut and look around there :) Thanks for your help!

Yeah it’s crazy, Williamsburg has become quite the hotspot ;) It wouldn’t hurt to still scope it out, but Brooklyn Heights is a great option too!

We finally got some snow in Boston! Just enough to make it look pretty but not enough that shoveling had to be involved, haha! I had a low key weekend myself. I did find a great brunch places with my girlfriends though!

The DC area got a sprinkling of snow and a layer of ice- snow was nice, ice not so much… We’re still waiting for the first real snowfall [crossing my fingers for a snow day]! Guess I need to start wearing my PJ’s inside out and doing the snow dance…
