girl meets closet: saturday night.

The most difficult part of not shopping has definitely been putting together my “going out” outfits. You see, I’m not that girl who can throw on an LBD with pumps and call it a day. I like to look different. I like to look like…well, me.

This is what I put together for this past Saturday night.

Shorts with tights is one of my favorite looks for the fall/winter, and it also happens to be a simple way to get creative with “off season” clothes. I paired the shorts with cream-colored tank, a thick belt, and bootz. To tie it all together I wore hooded bomber jacket (bomber jackets are a great investment – I wear mine all the time).

Take it from me – if you’re going out in NYC, don’t try too hard to dress to impress. You’ll have way more fun (and probably be more likely to get past the door too) if you just DO YOU. xoxo G

What does your typical “going out” outfit look like?

I love the shorts with tights look in fall/winter, especially for going out. I completely agree about not dressing to impress, when going out I usually rock a tight skirt, loose t-shirt and some fancy flats (with jewelry and makeup of course) and call it a day. Way more comfortable than heels and a skimpy dress! :)

You look so cute- you have such a fun style and I love how you own it! My going out style usually consists of a fun dress or skirt/top. Sometimes I’ll wear pants but I just don’t feel like myself without a skirt and some sky high heels!

I love that you wrote this post. When I went to NYC a couple of weekends ago that was one of the things I loved MOST about the city. You can wear whatever you want and it’s accepted. I loved that I could throw together some of the most random articles of clothing I had and it worked. It’s so true, dressing up is so much more fun when you do YOU. Oh and basically, I just love NYC :)

You could seriously wear anything and it would look amazing.
I love that you never dress to conform- that would make life so boring! I’m the same way. I’m not comfortable when I’m wearing the “latest trend” or the “sexiest outfit”. I just have to focus on me and the clothes that I love- which are usually a little weird and quirky! That’s why I love cities like NY and LA; anything goes. <3
