Whenever I see the word “exfoliant” to describe a skincare product, my mind translates that into “death for my poor white freckly face.” Needless to say, I usually avoid most face scrubs/peels because it means I’ll be left with irritated, dried-out skin. It’s not my best look.
But, for the sake of giving a sound review of Artistry by Amway’s products, I decided to give their Intensive Skincare Renewing Peel a try yesterday (check out my review of their night creme here).

I’ll be honest – the word “intensive” didn’t have me and my sensitive skin feeling very optimistic either. The information packet promised “instantly radiant skin after just one use,” though, so I continued on. The directions were simple: apply a thin layer on your face, let it dry for 6-8 minutes, then wash it off.

As soon as I applied the product on my face, I knew it wasn’t like any other skincare peel. It was soft and smooth, whereas my past experience with exfoliants were slimy and/or had those scrubbing ball thingies (yes, that’s a technical term). According to the website:
“Intensive skincare renewing peel takes the guesswork out of the peel process with a one-step application that delivers benefits comparable to a professional peel. It takes a completely unique approach to re-texturing the skin – using an exclusive mushroom enzyme to gently remove the surface of rough skin layers without harming the fresh luminous skin below. Intensive skincare renewing peel is also unique because it naturally adjusts to the skin and actually knows when to turn itself off, so you’ll get optimal results every time you use it without the risk or without any recovery time.”

While I can’t say I understand all of that scientific stuff, I can say that the result of the peel was nothing short of impressive. After just those few minutes, my skin was left feeling really silky smooth. The peel also also smelled great, unlike most other scrubs/peels I’ve used (which – let’s be honest – can sometimes smell like straight rubbing alcohol).
I’m actually pretty excited because I thought exfoliants/peels just weren’t in the cards for me, but now I can have a face as soft as a baby’s butt just like the rest of ‘em
Bad analogy? Okay…
In short, Artistry’s Intensive Skincare Renewing Peel is GML approved.
Do you exfoliate? If so, what’s your favorite product?

I know exactly what you mean about exfoliates! I am still looking for a favorite product, so I will have to go Artistry’s products a try!

Ohh la la! I need to give this a try especially since my skin tends to get irritated and dry in the winter…and…flaky..ew.
I do exfoliate, once a week with a scrub. It’s sensitive enough for my skin. The really coarse beads don’t treat my oily skin well - they cause break outs. But I have a winner for now.
Thanks for sharing though! I appreciate your GML approved stamps. that way I know for sure whether or not to further research a product. Gee, thanks : )
Also, I totally sucked at the last Freely Be challenge you had. Sorry. I lacked time/motivation. But I look forward hearing about what else the organization is doing, so keep sharing as info comes!
No worries at all, girl! Other than our upcoming Halloween event, we’ve taken a step back to focus on legal/financial “stuff,” but I’ll be sure to keep you posted with any upcoming campaigns/challenges we have!
I have really sensitive skin too, so I know how that goes. I might try this one!

Emily, for sensitive skin I’ve found, testimonies from my customers, that the Dry to Normal formulas of Artistry work the best for them. But, you may NOT need the toner. Try with and without it,or one customer of mine wets a cotton ball then adds a little toner but sometimes the toner for sensitive skin is too much. Wishing YOU the BEST on finding something that works for your skin!

Ooh, love this review, and since I do have sensitive skin I’m definitely gonna look into this one. Previous ones I have used: St. Ives’ apricot scrub. Check it out: http://www.stives.com/Facial-Products/Fresh-Skin/Invigorating-Apricot-Scrub/
Have a great weekend, looove your blog lovely!

Eva, I’ve actually tried the St. Ives product and it was pretty good for me, the only concern I had was the Apricot since my mom was allergic to them, but, I did not seem to have any reaction. Now that Artistry has this peel though I’ve only got eyes for it, it is amazing (all of my customers love it!)! Hope you find it works well for you too! ~Kim
