…Okay, so maybe it’s more like a “10pm snack,” but that didn’t have as much of a ring to it.
All you need is:
- 2 tablespoons peanut butter (or any other well-melting nut butter)
- about a cup of Chex cereal
Place the peanut butter in a bowl and microwave for 20-30 seconds. Then mix in the cereal, making sure to coat each piece. Freeze for at least 10 minutes for the most satisfying/crunchy/peanut-buttery snack ever.
Or, as I like to call it…

What’s your go-to nightly snack?

Um wow. I think you’ve stolen my heart. Needto get me some chex cereal so I can give this a shot! Looks delicious!
Yum!!! Right now my nightly snack is a lot of fruit, like strawberries or cherries. But I also like to spread frozen cool whip on graham crackers. 😉
Mmm peanut butter can make almost anything better.
Lately it’s been a lame homemade trail mix - roasted almonds, golden raisins, mini chocolate chips.
Yum, yum, making this tonight!
That sounds like the PERFECT snack! I bet it would taste great with chocolate peanut butter. Mmmmmmm… 😀
Yum! I’m totally trying this later today for an afternoon snack!
This looks like quite the tasty midnight snack
I usually reach for a bowl of oats or cereal.
Haha love the Puppy Chow title! I’d say my late night snack is either fro you or some sort of Vitatop concoction.
This looks SO good! I think I’ll make it. Today. In like an hour.
Omggg I have Chex I need to use so this is totally going to happen - with chocolate chips added in
as you said to me… why are we not bff?
well, we are now. and since we already arranged my move-in, we will be making this nightly to go with my greek-yogurt topped VitaTop with sugar-free chocolate fudge.
just say yes.

Num! What a great idea. A snack for one. How convenient.
This looks delicious and how easy! My go-to midnight snack is usually toast with nut butter but this looks like a delicious alternative! I’ll be making it tonight!
Yum! You know what would be really good with that? Chocolate chips melted on top of the peanut butter. I know you’re not much of a chocolate person, but for me, it just isn’t dessert without a little bit of chocolate!
YUM! Such a good idea! I can definitely see this being ADDICTING!
ha ha ha! been there done that
my midnight snack always involves Chex cereal.
As the world’s greatest lover of puppy chow, I am intrigued.
I have been mixing peanut butter with a little plain cereal, a few chocolate chips and marshmallow bits before bed. I don’t think I need to tell you how fabulous THAT is.
Hannah says
Oh my goodness that is genius. Imagine if you added a little cinnamon? Mmmmmmm.
OR YOU COULD ADD CHOCOLATE AND POWDERED SUGAR AND-
Oh wait.
That’s beside the point.
I love puppy chow! This looks so awesome! I love pudding cups. I’m sort of a chocoholic when it comes to midnight snacks.

yum!
uhhh delicious? I havent had chex in AGES!!!
Love this idea! I don’t have Chex but I bet it would taste really good with Quaker’s Oatmeal Squares too! 😀
Sounds a lot like puppy chow to me! Just without the requisite chocolate and powdered sugar. That might be a good thing for me, though. I cannot stop eating puppy chow…ever. Maybe I’d be able to exercise a teeny tiny bit of self control with this
This looks delicious! Love the idea of a lazy girl’s puppy chow 😉 My go to evening snack is generally some nuts…or nut butter
mmm I love eating that too! I’m almost ashamed to admit this.. but SOMETIMES.. i drizzle on some chocolate as well. :/ it’s just sooo good!
This looks amazin, but I’m thinking it coUld use some Choc chips!
I need to buy some chex asap
Dear Puppy Chow,
Let’s date exclusively.
Love,
Jordan
