Everybody who wants a recap post say YEA!!!
Okay, perfect. Let’s rewind to Wednesday evening, shall we?
After work I was greeted by none other than BFF Erica at the bungalow. Homegirl is going to be joining me in this lovely city starting on Monday (yes, Monday!), so she had some very necessary paperwork and apartment-hunting to take care of on Thursday.
We originally had plans to hit the town hard, but neither of us were feeling it, so we decided to hit the town light instead. It looked a little bit like: gym shorts, flip flops, shopping, and Whole Foods.

We enjoyed dinner overlooking a particularly skeez-tastic Union Square, but a pretty one nonetheless.

It turned out to be a great night! But then again, you can’t really go wrong with roaming the streets of New York with a best friend
Moving on to Thursday, which was pretty much just a typical work day. I threw on my newest sundress a la Forever 21 (no surprise there) – aka another thing getting me through the ridiculous heat wave.

They should send me a gift card for promoting their store so much, don’t you think?
Thursday also marked my very first green juice, which I drank way too fast and got massively nauseous.

According to my Twitter babes, this isn’t uncommon and was – like most things in life - easily cured by eating some carbs.
And then there’s today, where I woke up bright and early ready to take on the day. I started things off with a quick visit to the gym (side note: I’m going to do a more detailed post about my new gym soon!), followed by another pit stop at Whole Foods - you know, for the necessities.

It is Cookie Friday, of course.
Has anyone else tried these Liz Lovely cookies? I first got them a couple of weeks ago and have been obsessed ever since. The consistency is unlike normal cookies; sort of cookie dough-like - really dense and brown sugary.

GML approved, for sure.
And now - here we are! I’m on my lunch break right now, with plans to head to PA as soon as I’m done work. I could use another weekend with the family, what can I say?
As you can see, I’ve sort of been laying low over the past few days, and it’s been really great. I actually felt like God wanted me to just chill for a bit…which I may or may not explain a bit in a future post…?
But for now, enjoy your weekend for me, please! Love. xoxo G
Have you ever had green juice? Did it make you feel sort of sick too?
If you can tell me what the first line of this post is from I’ll love you forever and ever….

I still have yet to try a green juice! but, uh.. when I do, I’m keeping lots of bread on hand. or maybe pasta. or maybe a soft pretzel. anything carb-related, really. I don’t discriminate.
I’ve had that happen to me with green smoothies. Carbs are a perfect cure
what do you mean “particularly skeez-tastic Union Square”?! hehe, I love union square!! there’s always cute farmer’s markets!
Haha, I love US too!! There were just a bunch of smelly teenagers/weirdos there that day - must’ve been the heat
That cookie looks BOMB. And so does your juicy juice. And your dressy dress.
Honestly? Green juice SCARES me. Although it is a lovely color…
Never had a green juice.. but always wanted to try one. Now I am a little nervouse!!
I’ve never had a green juice… maybe this weekend I’ll try one. That cookies looks awesome by the way!
I have green juice daily. It was a necessity for me a few months ago because I could not eat solid veggies. I found that when I put fruit and carrots in it, it becomes sweet and has a creamier consistency. This makes it much easier to take down. My favorite add in is pear or strawberries.
I started with less nausea-inducing veggies: romaine lettuce, cucumber, fruit. After about a month I added celery and kale. I think just starting out simply and sweetly makes it easier to bear.
oh my gosh the way you describe the cookie makes me want it so bad!! and yes, the first time i went to this all raw restaurant and ordered some green juice, I had to sip it reallllly slowly..i dont know exactly why the naseau happens, but it def happened to me!
Liz lovely is the BOMBDIGGITY!!!!!!
So, I basically love everything about this post. The first line is from “who all seen da leprechaun!?!?!” I have green juice every day, but mine is not so much green juice as it is a smoothie masquerading as green. It’s basically a frozen banana, some other variety of frozen fruit and spinach. Also, Liz Lovely rules! I just had her ginger molasses cookie the other day for national gingerbread day (yes, it’s in June. Weird, I know). You are spot on in the description of the texture!
YES!!! You’re the only person who knew where that line was from!!!
Liz Lovely cookies are INSANELY good. Tried them at the Vegetarian Festival and was instantly addicted.
Haha Union Square is SO skeez sometimes, you couldn’t have said it any better. It’s very good for people watching that’s for sure!
Those cookies sound PERFECT!! I’m going to be on the look out!
LOVE the dress.. reminds me I haven’t bought a single item for summer yet this year, the horror!
I have indeed tried green juice, and as much as I love eating them I wasn’t so into the whole drink form!
Hmm… I’ve never had green juice. but once I had a sip of my friend’s wheatgrass juice that made me feel prettttty gross.
That being said, fresh squeezed apple juice from a juicer ROCKS MY WORLD! and that cookie looks a little too dense for the liking, but love Whole Foods as per for their variety.
While I love Union Square, I must agree that it can be particularly sketch at times… good for you for laying low! We all need some of that sometimes.
I’ve gotten a little nauseous before even just from homemade green smoothies. Usually it’s from the ones that have a LOT of greens loaded into them though. I always find myself scrounging for bread and/or cereal afterwards though and that immediately squashes the sickness. So weird how that happens though.
**yeaaaah***
I have been dying over florals as of late… and forever 21, but that’s all the time.
never had green juice and I can’t say I’m very tempted too now. I think I’ll continue eating my greens with a fork…
Love Whole Foods hot/cold bars!!!
) and your dress. i feel the same way about target
Just stumbled onto your blog, love it!
What is this green juice you speak of and how do you make it? I’m assuming it’s similar to a green smoothie, and I’ve been told I need to incorporate something like that into my diet. Please, do tell!
I got it at a juice bar - the lady pretty much shoved a huge bunch of kale, spinach, an apple, and another veggie or two into a juicer and that was the result! Doesn’t taste great, but good for someone who struggles with getting enough green (i.e. me). I do prefer green smoothies, though - much tastier! And less expensive (juicers are hundreds of dollars). Blend 1 cup milk, 1-2 cups spinach, 1 banana, and ice. BOOM - a green smoothie. The banana masks the spinach taste. Enjoy
Thanks Gracie! I’ll have to give that a shot.
