I don’t think I’ve mentioned the fact that I’m not the only city girl in GML family anymore. A few weeks ago, my sister Katie moved to what I’d say is the nicest area of downtown Philadelphia.

Today I was finally able to make it down to see here new place, and it was adorable! Philly is a great city, and I’m so excited for my sister and her new journey there :)

Up until moving to New York, I’ve spent my entire life living outside of the City of Brotherly Love. I’ve been to just about all of the attractions (the Liberty Bell, Independence Hall, Penns Landing, etc.), but one of the places I’d yet to visit was one of the city’s best-kept secrets – the Reading Terminal Market – where the fam and I headed for lunch.

Reading Terminal Market is essentially a farmers’ market on steroids, with every type of food merchant you can imagine. Whatever cuisine our ingredient it is you’re looking for, chances are you’ll find it here.

Between the Philly cheesesteaks, creperies, and massive salad bar, it wasn’t easy deciding on what to get for lunch. But, I ended up going for some good ol’ Middle Eastern cuisine.

For less than $8, I got a pretty hefty platter of falafel, veggies, rice, and hummus, with some pita bread on the side. Not too shabby!

The parents split a ginormous corned beef Reuben (they would) and Katie went with an Italian chicken sandwich. Both were really good! And the market was just a straight up fun time with the fam :)

We rounded things out with some treats, naturally.

All in all, it turned out to be a really great day. While I may be biased to NYC, I’m proud to call Philly my home city.

…and you best believe I’m never going to be anything but a Phillies fan, fyi ;)

What city do you live closest to? What’s the best attraction there?
