tidbits.

Hi there, dears! As I’m sure you know, most of this life I’ve met never actually makes it on the blog. So today I thought I’d share some of the life tidbits that have slipped through the cracks as of late.

For starters, I seem to have joined the rest of the female population who are obsessed with this stuff called “fro-yo.”

I still can’t bring myself to say that term without cringing just a little bit, but I can bring myself to consume mass quantities of the cold and creamy concoction (topped with anything and everything, of course). Phileo, Red Mango, Tasti D…I love it all.

Next up, can we have a little heart-to-heart for a sec? K, great. So, as much as I talk about how I love NYC and my evolving thoughts on what “home” is, I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t in the least bit homesick. The truth is that sometimes I miss the ease and overall simplicity of life in Pennsylvania, and all the time I miss my amazing and overwhelmingly loving family.

Would I change an ounce of my life right now? Absolutely not. But do I still get nostalgic and miss my “real” home of the past two decades? Sure do.

Last but not least, I don’t think I’ve made a single mention of the fact that this weekend I’ll be visiting Baltimore for the 2nd annual FitBloggin’ conference!

Truth be told - I kinda sorta feel out of place going to a blogging conference centered around fitness. I mean, with the exception of walking all over town and dancing into the wee hours in 4-inch heels, my exercise regimen has been non-existent for the past five months. I have been getting back into a “health kick” lately, though. And I’m beyond thrilled to sit in on the sessions, meet new bloggers, catch up with old blends, and get down in Baltimore, of course! (and I mean that in the most classy and “fit” way possible ;)).

For the above reason I’m very much itching for the weekend to get here, but for now, back to work. Have a ridiculously wonderful Wednesday, all! xoxo G

Are you on the frozen yogurt bandwagon? (and yes, I’ll still love you if you say “fro-yo!”)

p.s. you still have a few more hours left to enter my French macaron giveaway!

I’m new to the bandwagon, but I’m on it bigtime! I work a block away from Mochi, and it’s so easy to duck over on an afternoon break! Have you tried the little mochi gummies on it? It’s like gummi bears…but better!

I could eat frozen yogurt for every meal! If you are ever in Nashville, try Sweet Cece’s! You will never be able to look at frozen yogurt the same! (oh and one of my best friends is the model on the website!)

I haven’t jumped on the fro-yo bandwagon yet. There is a froyo shop that opened up near my house that I really want to go to, but haven’t made it there yet.

I think my boyfriend like fro-yo more than I love it! He always requests a visit there at least 1x a week. It is delish though!! I would be scared of the amount I would consume if that was a job option in high school or college…. woooah

That pic of yo momma & you is very adorable!

I LOVE frozen yogurt!! There used to be a place by me called Berry Chill that was amazing!! I would always get plain with blueberries and yogurt chips. I love how it feels like an ice cream run but is so much healthier!

I’ll be hanging out with the fitbloggers! Not going to the actual conference, but I only live 10 minutes outside of the harbor :)

Ever since I tried Pinkberry in NYC, I’ve delightfully secured myself a spot on the Fro-Yo Bandwagon. When I lived in Chicago, I would consume Red Mango, Forever Yogurt, and Freshberry in ridiculous quantities. Now that I’m back in Windsor, we only have a place called Yogen Fruz, but it’s still pretty amazing! I can’t believe you waited this long 😛

Cold, creamy and delicious- how can I not love fro Yo! Just had the biggest craving for if so made faux fro Yo with Greek yog as my base! Mnm toppings galore!

Although you don’t exercise formally, I think you’re a great example of how to incorporate exercise into daily life! Hv a great weekend :)

I LOVE Fro-Yo!!! There’s a Planet Living (offspring of Planet Smoothie) near where I run. It’s the perfect motivation to get out and get my run in!

I am most certainly on the fro-yo bandwagon! I am the one who ALWAYS suggest my friends and I go and get it anytime we are out. There is no shame:)

I used to live off frozen yogurt when I wasn’t vegan. I haven’t had any since but I heard there is a vegan fro-yo place somewhere in sf, so I need to find that asap!

  12. Mandi says

I absolutely love frozen yogurt! A month or two ago I was on huge kick too and would have it pretty much every weekend. :)

I love frozen yogurt, but apparently the frozen yogurt trend hasn’t hit Minnesota yet because it’s ridiculously hard to find. I went to Utah and Vegas on vacation a few months ago and ate Menchie’s to my heart’s content.

I am guilty of calling it fro-yo, but even more annoyingly I refer to hot chocolate as “Ho-Cho.” Saying Ho-Cho makes me laugh every time. What can I say, I’m easy to amuse. :)

Hi my name is Emily and I am a fro yo addict. Well, a recovering one at least. Going to school in LA right when Pinkberry was getting big meant that I went there MULTIPLE times a week. Then when I moved to the bay, I still treated my addiction almost every day. I used to eat it instead of dinner all the time, which I realized was way unhealthy. Now I’m happy to say that I have a much better relationship with it and view it as a rare treat. And it helps that I don’t have a Pinkberry near me… because if I did… all bets are off 😉

  15. Taryn says

My boyfriend accidentally called it “frogurt” once, which I thought was hilarious and much more pleasing to the ear.

  16. says

Ummm I hear you about being out of place at a fitness convention! ha!! <- me too 😛
But, it will still be a blasty I'm sure… can't wait for the blends / sessions / exploring, etc!!

As for fro yo……yes, i agree name - stupid ; taste - amazing!

  17. says

I love fro-yo, sadly the only place around me is an hour away so that keeps me from indulging very often. Baked goods will always be my favorite sweet treat, though!
    Have fun at FitBloggin’! 😀

I know what you mean about missing home - I still live at home in the summers, but I miss it during the 8 months that I’m at school. But at least it’s always there if we want to visit, right? :)

Heck yes I love fro yo! We’re getting our first self serve fro yo shop here this summer and I can’t wait!!!

  19. says

i havent had froyo in SO long…I go through phases with it for sure! i have it like everyday for a month then wont have it for a few months..im in a no froyo phase righ tnow…it doesnt help that its about 40 degrees and rainy here either! BLAH!

  20. says

mmm my fav part of the weekend was getting to be with both my family and my friends for my birthday and brother’s graduation!

  21. says

I’ve been on the froyo bandwagon since 5(yes, 5) new places in my college town have sprang up in the last 6 months. I’m all for the trend.

I <3 NY as well. A couple of my best girlies just moved there in the past couple weeks. Must be the place to be at the moment.
Next time I visit LA and all the friends and family I will have to get over to nyc and discover all your hidden treats.
    I <3 Subways too.
