a pit stop at Eataly.

Some friends of mine had plans to visit Eataly today in New York’s Flatiron district, and while I couldn’t join them for the long haul, I decided it was a necessary pit stop to make before heading back to the Island. I had heard great things about Eataly, so I wanted to see what it was all about!

It was pretty packed inside, which is a tell-tale sign that you’ve found a good place.

The cool thing about Eataly, though, is that it’s not just a restaurant. It’s pretty much an Italian cafe/market/restaurant all in one. I’m definitely going to have to go back for a real Italian meal, but for today I settled for a treat to-go.

Tortino Dama – two hazelnut cookies filled with chocolate ganache

I mean, did you really expect me to leave empty handed? :) And, considering I have a hot date with my couch and television tonight, I figured this would make for a grand addition.

(…but let’s be real. I ate it about two seconds after snapping these photos.)

While I can’t vouch for the food at Eataly, it’s definitely a fun spot if you’re looking for places to visit in the city. And, they’re pastry chef(s) clearly know what they’re doing.

I’ve been to Eataly a few times and seriously fell in love! I love how interesting it is inside and there are so many choices. Try the homemade bread if you get a chance, it is to die for!
