why you should always have pizza crust.

…because when you don’t know what to eat after a long day at work, you can top it with just about anything and call it a day.

And when I say “day,” I mean a rockin’ dinner that makes you feel all sorts of creative…and stuff.

My crust of choice last night was courtesy of Udi’s, compliments of my freezer.

I cut it in half and made two versions of my favorite food.

Behind door number one we have a traditional pizza of sorts – topped with garlic, tomato sauce, mozzarella cheddar cheese, and spinach.

And as the closer, turn your attention to its peanut butter + date + white chocolate-topped cousin.

There you have it – reasons #85 and #86 why pizza is in fact the greatest food on earth.

What are your favorite pizza toppings?

My favorite pizza toppings are ALL the veggies I can get, like onions, tomato, green peppers, mushrooms, basil and black olives. I also prefer LOTS of marinara sauce and just a little bit of cheese. I like your idea to cut the crust in half and have one savory side and one sweet side. So creative!

Ah coming from someone who still works at a pizza restaurant. I love love love pizza and have yet to get sick of it. In fact I still order it in for lazy night dinners. My favorite toppings: mushrooms, spinach, jalapenos, and sausage.

I need to make that. It looks so good. My favorite pizza topping are veggies and lots of pesto. I’m not a big fan of cheese. I feel like it over powers the rest of the flavors.

By the way, I have been reading your blog for months now, but I finally got one of my own so now I can comment. I love your blog and all the changes you made to it throughout the months.

The latter of the two reminds me of the dessert pizza at Max Brenner’s! Amazing combo :)

Love that Udi’s crust! So easy and delicious!!

Salad pizza, hands down. Simply drizzle a tad of olive oil and sprinkle chopped garlic and basil on the crust and bake. Take out after about ten minutes at 350, or when the crust is golden. Then to with your salad fix-ins of choice! I love lettuce, tomato, red onion and a bit of mozzarella and BBQ chicken. I like to slip it back in the oven for an additional minute or so to let it all blend a bit — but not TOO long to make the lettuce all warm & wilty.

    … OK, now I’m hungry!

I am definitely a fan of caramelized onions, blue cheese, and figs. Wowie, it’s sooo good. I’ll eat any topping on any pizza though. Really! 😀
