sunday funday.

Um, does anyone else hate that term/phrase?

Yeah…never let me use it again.

Anyway, how about a little recap of my day? K great. Well, after a 6am rise’n shine, a train ride into the city, and a few (much-needed) hours at church, I headed to Spring Street Natural to meet Gabriela for lunch brunch.

I had heard great things about SSN and was especially drawn to the fact that they offer natural vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes. Because we meat-eaters can be healthy too, you know. Just sayin’ :)

It wasn’t easy picking a dish because the menu was full of great options, but a particular one caught my eye.

It was a good choice. Flavorful, great textures, and…french fries.

And, being the absolute amazing blend that she is, Gabriela came to lunch bearing (birthday) gifts! I pretty much died because…well, I think the pictures speak for themselves.

Does she know me or does she know me?? And to top it off – a gift card to Crumbs! Thank you so much, G :)

I spent the next few hours of the day…*drum roll please*…apartment hunting in the city. Yes – the gal who just up and moved her entire life a few short months ago is looking to do it all over again.

I wasn’t going to advertise it on the blog yet since I’m not sure how things are going to unfold, but, secrets are lame. If it happens, it happens. If not…well, we’ll cross that bridge when it comes. Prayers/fingers crossed/ good no-fee realtor recommendations are welcome!

But for now - I need a night of unplugging before the work week begins. Have a good one, toddies. xoxo G

What terms/phrases bug you?? I’m personally not a fan of “Hump Day” and “it is what it is”…

Hahaha I love saying hump day. It just kinda makes me laugh inside. I can’t think of any terms/phrases that bug me off the top of my head, but I HATE when people misuse terms. Like when a few years ago everyone was saying “legit” completely out of context. “I’m legit going to go to Wawa now.” Because, you know, everyone clearly would think there’s some kind of falsity in that statement…

How exciting about the potential move… you’ve got some great things going on in your life!

I really dislike a lot of sports-related cliches. “Let’s hit the ball out of the park”… uh, okay?

I HATE hump day! I kind of like Sunday Funday though… and I’m definitely guilty of saying “it is what it is”. Annoying, I know.
Yay for the move! That’s exciting!
I’m the same way, I hate doing the whole suspenseful secret keeping thing. I’m not good at it.

Fun post and Happy Birthday! And I agree, meat eaters can be healthy, too :D.

Cupcake accessories sound like a good birthday present to me! The mini cupcake holder looks so cute! Hope you have fun.

And good luck apartment hunting! It’s exciting and frustrating all at the same time, right?
Nice to “meet” you today. I’ll definitely be following along.

    Have a great week,
    Dana

Fingers crossed for you girl! I’m currently apartment hunting in the city too and it’s so overwhelming!

Oh & can the three of us have a blogger meet-up soon? :)

I love apartment hunting! It’s so exciting to think about a “fresh start” somewhere new.

I despise when people say, “I could care less.” First, I feel that it should be “I couldn’t care less”, and second, it’s just rude, ha!

I have to admit, I’m a little guilty of using “funday” after any day of the week. Oops!

HATE “hump day”. Agree with Chelsea on “yummo”. Anything “cutsie” that is said to get attention. Said jokingly, it’s a different thing. I personally HATE “tooken”, “thrownd” (threw), “seen-ed” (saw), and when people constantly say “and what not”. I have also heard “frozened”, and “stollened” (stole). It baffles the mind.
TOOKEN is such a pet peeve.

I hate yummy, tastey, yummo, yo, dude. There’s this one girl where I work who constantly says “and this and that” when telling a story. Drives. me. insane.

Oh, I absolutely loathe “it is what it is.” That doesn’t even mean anything! It’s just filler! I am guilty of uttering “hump day,” in my Wednesday small talk with coworkers though. Oops.

That burger, by the way, looks sensational. Good luck with apartment hunting. Reeeally hard to find something affordable in NYC! If you’re not opposed to being a hop skip and a jump from the city, I’d look into Hoboken, NJ. It’s such a lovely town, being close enough to the city to see it yet rent is half the price.

I’m sure “hump day” sounds just fine when you say it 😉 hehe.

I know of a few people who live in Hoboken! At this point, though, I already live pretty close outside of the city, so if I’m gonna move I’m just gonna go all the way, ya know? :)

I almost bought those same paper cupcake liners the other day! I ended up buying checkered… like picnic blanket checkered/plaid haha.. instead. but i wanted the polka dot ones too 😛
    happy cupcake baking!!!!

Hahaha! I HATE “It is what it is.” What does that even MEAN. And I hate “Sunday Funday” because I usually work from home all Sunday morning then rehearse with my dance company for like six hours hah. Not exactly relaxing… whilst I read FB status updates about my friends shopping at the farmer’s market and having leisurely brunches with mimosas at the beach. Jerkfaces! :)

Apartment hunting in the city can be a lot of work but it’s a lot of fun too! I’m sure you’re already checking out craigslist but another great site is streeteasy.com. They have a lot of no-broker fee listings. If you’re looking for a fun, young neighborhood that isn’t too expensive I definitely recommend checking out the upper east side. There’s a ton available. Happy hunting!

I hate anything like OJ for orange juice and hot cocoa… oh and when adults say turkey day. I could go on for owl hairs (hours) lol but I will stop at just a few.

I totally love the cupcake decorations and cups. Cupcakes are my weakness. Whenever I was younger my parents would give me cupcakes on my birthday rather than cake. However how I am turning is how many cupcakes I recieved. That sure works out in my favour as I get older 😉
