Guess what I did last night?
If you guessed “attend a peanut butter-themed cocktail party,” you’re correct
Gabriela was kind enough to invite me along as her guest to the kickoff event for the Nutropolitan Museum of Art, hosted by PB & Co. and the National Peanut Board.
The Nutropolitan – the world’s first pb&j art exhibit – will be held over the next three days (3/4 – 3/6) at the Openhouse Gallery in Soho. Each visitor will receive a free jar of peanut butter, as well as a second jar donated to the Food Bank For New York City in their honor. So if you’re in the New York area, stop by for some activities and fun - it’s for a great cause!
Anyway, last night’s event was hoppin’ with fellow peanut butter lovers…
…and peanutty snacks, of course!
Art isn’t exactly my forte, but the artwork at the event was definitely the type I could see myself getting into.
One piece in particular – a sandwich of white chocolate peanut butter, marshmallow fluff, and coconut flakes - was dubbed my “dream sandwich” by Gabriela. She was right.
And Gabs went for the veggies, of course
The best part? We were sent home with rockin’ swag bags, complete with not one but two of my favorite PB&Co. peanut butters.
Thanks so much to PB&Co. We had a great time!
Describe your childhood pb&j sandwich. Mine was usually white bread, peanut butter, grape jelly, and butter. Yes, regular butter (don’t knock it ‘til ya try it!).

Wow! Great swag bag! Even though I would be a little too overwhelmed living with all this PB goodness…;) I would probably end up eating some PB & co. at every meal ;-P
OMG THATS SO AWESOME!
okay, that’s it - give me your life.. now.
Oh. My. Days.
What an awesome event!! I need to move to NYC :/
How fun!
My childhood pb&j was white bread, creamy pb, and grape jelly. If I’d been really good that day, it would be sans crust! haha
WOAH that’s so awesome
Lucky ladies!
looks like a such a delicious time- envious!
Looks like an awesome event! I’m jealous of your goodie bag!
Believe it or not, I hated peanut butter and jelly sandwiches until about 3 years ago. For some reason the smell really turned me off. But fear not! I am making up for lost time! Now my fav is whole wheat bread, natural peanut butter and strawberry or raspberry jelly. I would looooove to try some of that White Chocolate Wonderful…maybe with some Nutella!
Wow what a cool event!! Thats my dream snackage!
PB&J is honey wheat bread, PBw/honey, and either strawberry jelly or honey on time. Sometimes, to be “fancy” when I was little, I put in bananas or baby marshmallows.
That event looks so fun! I’m in love with their White Chocolate Wonderful PB.
My childhood PB&J consisted of white bread, creamy PB, and my grandma’s homemade strawberry peach jam. So good!
I love, love the peanut sign!!
wheat bread, crunchy peanut butter and blackberry jam.
And if i coincidentally had potato chips in my lunch too, i crammed them into my sandwich
SO jealous of your night! I LOVED visiting PB&CO when I was in NYC!
My childhood sandwhich was plain and simple PB… and butter! ahahahah
Awww!! So jealous, definitely may have to check it out this weekend. That’s the kind of art I can get into, too.
So jealous of you guys’ night.
I had to comment because my childhood pb&j was the same as yours (although sometimes raspberry jam), and I’ve never heard of anyone other than my own family members putting butter on a pb&j. Butter on pb&j is the only way to go! Soo good.
Mine was wheat bread and strawberry jelly. I never used to like peanut butter. Now I like it, especially PB&Co.’s Dark Chocolate Dreams!
How fun! I feel like I grew up on PBJs. My sandwiches consisted of white bread, crunchy PB, and strawberry jam. Oh and the PB and jam had to be spread evenly over the bread - my only requirement! Have a great day!
What a fun, unique event! My childhood pbj was the same as yours, minus the butter with the crusts cut off
OMG a PB convention literally sounds like a dream come true!! I adore Peanut Butter and Co. especially that White Chocolate one!! Lucky you =]
SO FUN! I’m pretty sure I had a PB&J every day for about 8 or 9 years
White bread, whatever PB was on sale, grape jelly - WITH the crust - cut down the middle.
Thanks for being my date!! You really need to recreate that sandwich…
As a kid I’d make PB sandwiches on potato bread with Nutella and chocolate chips inside. As a snack. So healthy…and also kind of genius.
I used to toast my white bread, smear butter over it while it was still hot so it melted in, then wait for it to cool and coat both slices of bread with peanut butter with a thin strip of grape jelly in the middle. Now I skip the bread and just eat the peanut butter straight from the jar
LOVE PB&Co. They are the best.
I’m so mad the exhibit is just for the next couple days. I would have totally went in a week when I go to NYC! Looks like you guys had fun!
Jealousy!!
That looked like a blast!
Omg I’m soooo jealous! While I was in my kitchen eating PB with a spoon, you were out doing it high class! Ahhhhhh.
I want to throw my own PB themed party since I can’t score an invite to one! Lol
This is an absolute dream come TRUE. I’m considering moving to NY for that exhibit alone
Mine is actually PB AND MF, peanut butter and marshmallow fluff. Maybe with a little bit of honey, too. We only had it on rare occasions, but as soon as we saw the jar of fluff come out we were the best behaving children in the universe.
What a fun night!! I used to love PB and J sandwiches…I loved extra jelly
how fun!!!
extra jelly was my fave on my pb&j sammies as a kid!
Only in NEW YORK!!! This event looks like so much fun! Very Sex and the City reminiscent! Have a great weekend!!!!
Barbara
Oh my goodness, I’d love to have some of that artwork around the house! That’s so cool!
Sounds so fun! Mine was smooth peanut butter with RASPBERRY jelly on wheat bread!
ahhh!! So jealous, wish they had one in Chicago!!
I went to the exhibit/seminar thing today. The goody bags were pretty sweet, and I loved the artwork. I think my favorite might have been the piece with the clementines on it.
This event looks SO amazing!! And your dream sandwich looks heavenly. You should definitely try to create it
I did’t discover a PB substitute (soy nut butter) until I was 12 so I went all throughout childhood without getting to experience the wonderfulness that is a nut butter sandwich!
My childhood PB&J was just plain rye bread with smooth peanut butter and strawberry jelly. YUM! It looks like PB&Co. knows how to throw a party! Glad you had a great time.
I loved pb and dill pickle sandwiches…still do!!! You got to try it!!!! Delicious!!!
