Let’s be real – March is one of the best months of the year. You’ve got the end of winter, the onset of spring, Saint Patrick’s Day, the birthday celebration of the coolest chick e-v-a-h….
Whaaathowdidthatslipinthere?? ![]()
But seriously, other than the 0.0007 percent of people who enjoy snow and cold weather, it’s always a relief to have January and February out of the way. (Clearly I’m in complete denial about the “wintery mix” around the corner. Ew.)
Some other favorites from this past month? How about we start with…
My new shoes. Maybe I’m less of a female for not rocking 5-inch stilettos up and down the sidewalks of New York, but at least these Alfani wedges I got last week will leave me with feeling in my feet at the end of the day. And, I think they happen to be pretty darn adorable too.

Next up is Stumbleupon. Because what better way is there to waste time than by looking at pictures of cute animals?
Chocolate Peanut Butter Mousse Pie. If the name isn’t enough to get your mouth watering, just wait until you try it! I’m not usually very confident when it comes to my own recipe creations, but this one definitely falls under the “pats self on back” category.

Since I’m too cheap to by new music, this past month I started to pull out songs from way back when.
…and you know you’re getting old when those songs are from your college (rather than high school) years.
Writing by hand. Would you believe that it’s been years (literally, about five years) since I took handwritten notes? Sure, I jot stuff down here and there, but over the past few weeks I’ve been carrying a notebook around with me everywhere. While I can’t say I miss the days of writing bullet points describing the process of cellular respiration, going back to taking a pen to paper (rather than fingers to keyboard) to write out my thoughts and ideas has proven to be quite satisfying.
…it also comes in handy when I need a self-intervention of sorts.

(Seriously. They’re that bad.)
Those are just a few of my favorites from what turned out to be quite a life-changing month; new age, new job, new church family, and the decision to venture into another new home. God has definitely been showing me that there’s a bigger picture than what I thought this “dream” of mine would be, and I can’t wait to see what these next four weeks have in store.

What are some of your March favorites?
Do you keep any sort of handwritten journal/diary?

I'm the girl, Gracie Gordon. Here at GML you can follow my journey of dreaming, working, eating, loving, and blogging my way through life in NYC.

Ah, love those shoes! I agree…comfort AND cuteness is key…my feet are killing me by the end of the day if I wear heels! I like March because it means April is just around the corner. Kidding…kind of ;). We got snow yesterday, so I’m just excited for April where the weather forecasters are predicting 68* and rain…I’ll take it!
Ooh, yes please to the pie!
I take handwritten notes at work. Love it! It always feels so much more like a “real writer” than my keyboard, for some odd reason!
I seriously need to get my pants tailored too! This month I thankful for vacation as it was my first full week off from work. It was glorious!
March favorites: DSW sale rack, where I found a pair of $149 Michael Kors wedges for $14.99, OPI’s Rumples Wiggin’ from their Shreck Ever After line, and oh … SUN! Warmth, I’ve missed you!
aw girl I need to get a few new shoes for my closet! DSW here I come!! and i def need to get on that peanut butter mouse pie! YUM! xo have a great thursday love!
Those shoes are adorable!!! Love stumbleupon, too!!
March favs: the start of daylight savings time. I’m so happy to still see the sun at 7pm
I do try to keep a handwritten journal as much as possible, and am often writing handwritten lists…I think there is much value in it! Love the shoes:)
I agree with you on writing on paper! Something amazing about taking it from your brain, to your fingertips, and onto paper.
I love writing notes and lists by hand. I do it every day! I’m also in grad school, so I take notes like it’s my job. A not-so-fun job, but whatever
Those shoes are so cute!! And great color-they’d match anything!
I love writing things by hand, ever since I was a kid. Buying school supplies, pens and paper in particular, was always more enthralling to me than shopping for back-to-school clothes. Yeah, I was a geeky kid. Still, I’m a sucker for some swanky stationery and a good ballpoint pen.
To this day, I write down my grocery lists, to do lists, notes at work, my journal… pretty much everything possible! If only I could “jot down” blog comments.
P.S. I write my capital Es the same way as you!
CUTE SHOES!!! <3
I actually write a lot by hand at work. I’m continuously in meetings and I need to keep track of all the good discussions. I still write in cursive though!
In March, I officially switch over to iced coffee instead of hot coffee. I know it’s still chilly, but I make the switch now
I’ll switch back over to hot in the fall!
For some reason, I have an obsession with handwriting/my handwriting so I LOVE handwritten notes, calenders, post its etc. I always wrote my notes by hand in college because by writing for some reason it stuck with me better.
Also, wedged heels are CUTE and sooo much more comfortable than stilettos. I have a few Vera Wang pairs that I stick by
I avoid writing things by hand because I hate my handwriting and I’m incredibly embarrassed by it. Seriously, I’ve been made fun of before because of my handwriting so I just write down what it necessary.
There are also a surprising number of birthdays in March. Especially the last week.
I love writing notes out but I am also a big to do list girl and love love love my own writing (how vain). Now, GO GET THOSE PANTS fixed! Then you can rock those adorable shoes and have them be seen. Cute.
Chocolate Peanut Butter Mousse Pie!!! I didn’t even have any but that’s now on my list of top things from March.
Those shoes are SO cute! I want them!
Gorgeous shoes!! I love writing notes by hand much more than on my computer. I swear I was one of the few students who wrote down notes in a notebook and not on my laptop
I try to keep an agenda, but I’m terrible at remembering to use it. The only time I ever make lists is for groceries. I guess I prioritize remembering to buy food over remembering to do my homework haha.
Love the shoes!
Love those shoes! And that chocolate peanut butter mousse pie sounds amazing.
I used to take handwritten notes, but now I always use my computer because it’s so much faster!
March really truly is love. Not on the weather front this year (we still have snow.. ugh.) but it still means spring is just around the corner. And I share the March birthday love too! Am inspired to buy new shoes, have already bookmarked (and can’t stop drooling over) that pb pie, and totally support handwritten notes. I keep a journal (SO good for ranting ;)) and write to do lists every night before bed… I love it! Nothing beats old school pen + paper.
March is awesome but I see great things for APRIL starting tomorrow too!
Sounds like you had a great month. I can’t help but be partial to my birthday month - April!
PS - I’m totally drooling over that peanut butter pie. Adding it to my “to-make” list right now!
So great to hear what a great month it’s been!
I wish I could say I keep up with a handwritten journal. But after having mandatory writing assignments throughout school, writing by hand has sadly become just another chore.
OMG that pie looks beyond sinful!!!

Love the shoes! I think it’s worth it to wear a wedge, especially when you have a commute to deal with! I’m a shortie, so I know the value of a good heel, but I really don’t think stilettos are always appropriate. By the end of a long day, those stilettos make some women walk funny, and that really overpowers the cuteness of the shoe, ya know? So not worth it. I’d love to see some of the outfits you put together with those shoes
