The 140-character limit on Twitter is arguably what makes it so popular and even…revolutionary.
But, are you ever left wondering what the back-story behind someone’s “awesome night” is? Or the reason why they tweeted that cryptic song lyric? Or why they’re “totally craving a cupcake right now?”
I am! So for fun, here are the stories behind some of my recent tweets.
the tweet:
the story:
That’s right, I love Trump. I think he’s hilarious, and I appreciate when people say what they mean and mean what they say. Whether you take him seriously or not, homeboy knows exactly what he’s doing.

No explanation necessary.

the story:
I’m following a “read through the Bible in a year” program, and right now I’m in the book of Numbers. Let’s just say…it’s not an easy read. Whether you consider yourself a Christian or not, it’s difficult to deny the depth and historical accuracy of the Bible!

the story:
I usually don’t buy clothing if I feel an ounce of doubt, but I’m also rendered helpless to a good sale. If we’re being honest here, though, part of me thinks this dress is hideous
So I’m going to take a page from other bloggers’ books and ask for your help. Yay or nay??
the tweet:
the story:
Broccoli, cinnamon raisin bread with coconut butter, and peanut butter hummus. Not a typical dinner, but an outstanding one.

Be sure to check out Katie’s Bake Sale, which is taking place today! The proceeds will help to cover the cost of airfare for Katie’s service trip to Nicaragua.
I’m donating some of my Chocolate Hazelnut Oatmeal Cookies.

a belt and some cute boots and i think that dress is totally a do!
love all the stories, especially the baked greasing sheet! as for the dress, i don’t think it makes you look hideous, but i’m not a fan of the mixed vertical and horizontal stripes…love the colors though!
I love that outfit! The colors are great for spring.
The dress is a total yes!
Wow, I need to step away from Twitter cause I saw pretty much all of those. Funny though, cause I was watching Regis and Kelly when you Tweeted that, I scanned your post looking for the typo and completely missed the “baked greasing sheet,” and was totally curious about your dinner since I thought mine would receive “whaaadaaaafuhhh” looks.
You look bangin’ in the dress, but I think it’s the bottom print that I’m not crazy about..
Emily - same! The bottom print/color “fading” is what’s throwing me off too
AHHHHH that dress!! ITS PERFECT, I love it!
Haha love this post!
You look great in the dress, but the bottom kinda bothers me a little, too. I’m no fashionista though:)
Such a fun post idea-love! The shape of the dress is super cute, but I’m not so sure about the bottom half of it, I do love pockets in dresses though!
Dress looks adorable as usual and cookies make me want to make something right now!
1) Dress = YES!
2) Tweet: I know #running will cheer me up but I’m so crabby I’m having trouble convincing myself of it!
Story: I had the longest day of work and was just EXHAUSTED and unmotivated to run. I made myself get out there, though, and had the BEST 5 miles! Felt rejuvenated and like a whole new person
I’m not sure about the dress. I feel like it kind of hangs a bit off, in a way that isn’t entirely flattering to how cute and little you are!
love the dress!!!
AHAHAHH such a funny post.. i often get confused on other blogger’s tweets
I dont tweet THAT often but here is one:
“London weather is being a butt hole”
it was sunny for 2 hours then clouds came in and it POURED for most of the day.. then it got sunny and blue skies for like 2 hours tops and then it rained again.. all in one day.. wtf
I did one the other day “I think i over cooked the mahi” and it was true to form my fish turned out quite chewy and bleh…
tweeting is so fun i have to admit…whenever I want advice or question I turn to twitter and get help within minutes! hehe
oh and that dress is cute!
I recently tweeted that I wanted to drop out of school and become a pastry chef in France because I had just watched a documentary about French pastry chefs. Obviously, I’m easily swayed and getting burnt out on this semester
Cool post!
I love the combination of patterns in the dress but it needs accessories. Dark belt and boots?
Ah! I love this post! Very different from the usual
About the dress - On its own, I would have to say NAY. However, as someone else mentioned, if you try a thick belt… it could look cute, I think. So look around and see if you can find a belt or some cute accessories!
I love this. so creative! i may have to borrow the theme for my blog someday. i will totally give you credit
cute dress. personally i’d wear tights or pants under it….that might be the conservative mommy in me
hehe yup I’d probably go with tights and a blazer/cardigan!
I’m going to be honest- not diggin the dress.
I’ll bet it can be saved with accessories and such, but unfortunately, any advice I gave you with that would probably best be avoided haha.
I agree with the belt suggestion for the dress, I’m not entirely loving it on it’s own.
Haha I love that typo! That’s the kind of thing I would accidentally say - I kind of fail when it comes to speaking sometimes
Must be why I chose numbers for my career haha
hahaha, I love this! I sometimes wonder what’s going behind tweets..now I know.
I like the bottom half of the dress better than the top, I think. Have you experimented with accessories to see if that sells you on it?
I didn’t mean to submit that yet. As you saw, I just tweeted about Goldfish bread. I love that Twitter gives me an audience for my random thoughts, and easy access to people who will appreciate fish-shaped sandwich thins as much as I will.
Hmmm, I’m going to say Nay on the dress. The style if flattering but the pattern is not.
Nicaragua is an awesome country! I hope you friend can go
I love the drass actually. Total hippie chic and you can play with it quite a bit. I love mismatching patters, so it was an easy choice for me.
What do you eat with the peanut butter hummus? Just plain? I want to make it but I can’t think of how I would eat it!
I eat it straight out of the bowl, haha. But it would be great to dip fruit/veggies in!
LOVE the typo!! That’s totally something I would do!!
Normally I love your clothes, but I feel like this dress is comprised of two different dresses awkwardly put together. Though I do like the top half, just not the bottom. Hope you appreciate my honesty!
I really do appreciate it!! I think I agree with you!
Nay on the dress. I think it looks boxy on you and you don’t want to hide a nice figure. Plus those two patters together are kind of loud…
The dress is cute, but not for a freezing cold day like today!!!
Love the colorful dress!
belt + cardigan = making the dress doable
I have so many dresses I wouldn’t be caught dead wearing on their own. But add a couple accessories and voila! Ready to be seen in public.
You look awesome in the dress and the neckline/shoulder part is so cute! But I’m just not feeling the print. You’re more of a fashionista than me though, so I’m sure if you play around with it you might find a way to make it more wearable!
Love the dress
I don’t even have a twitter! Should I get one?
love the dress and the price! i think it would be great though if you belted the middle
hahahah
baked greasing sheet.
it’s okay, at least you caught it!
i think the dress is cute! i’m also with you on the major sales… i can’t pass them up.
alllsooo… i’m having a giveaway over at my blog right now!
check it out. http://www.whatkatiesbaking.com
not gonna lie, girlfriend…there’s a reason that dress was on sale.
All that dress needs is a belt forreals its cute!
I’m not the biggest fan of the dress. I see most of the commentors like the top and not the bottom.. but I’m the other way. The bottom fits you better and the top looks loose. Maybe take a few pictures with some options for us?
