spontaneity: it’s good for the soul.

I don’t care how many post titles I have saying “it’s good for the soul”…spontaneity really is!

I mean, today’s plans aren’t that spontaneous, but I sure am enjoying them.

Best friend (and the third leg of our tripod) Erica arrived last night to stay with me for a few days. Yay! She has an interview in the city today, and I planned on just working from home. But, with a job that allows me to work from anywhere, why not just go into the city and work from there? So that’s what I’m doing.

We got up extra early to take on the day…and the supposed ice storm that the entire world is up in arms about. But first – a homemade latte.

YUM. I’m so glad that I finally got myself an Aerolatte yesterday. I don’t think I’ve ever loved a kitchen appliance more.

Then, I got freshie fresh (i.e. working in something other than pajamas. Woohoo!).

The trains were a bit delayed, so we set up camp in a nearby coffee shop so I could get started on work.

…and then another coffee shop upon entering the city.

Plans for the rest of the day include…well, we haven’t made it that far yet. Dinner? Happy hour? Apartment shopping? 😉

Do you like spontaneity? Or does it stress you out?

I am the biggest advocate for spontaneity you will ever meet. Even though I can be a huge planner, I always leave room for busting out of that plan and just going with the flow! That’s when having Larabars on hand at all times comes in handy:)

Sometimes I love a little spontaneity, and sometimes I’m just not up for it. I have a snow day today, and my husband asked me to call our newly-met neighbors because they just might want to stop by. Well, I don’t want to- I want to stay in my pj’s and not wear a bra for as long as I want to!

I’m a huge planner, so spontaneity stresses me out a little. I used to not be so bad though. It’s something I’m working on and hope to feel more comfortable with eventually. My husband is the complete opposite…go figure!

Thanks girlie! The ones I’m wearing here are from Old Navy, but I got them last year :/ The brown ones are from Macy’s…they’re “Etienne Aigner.”

It stresses me out. My boyfriend does most things on a whim, so it does create some conflict sometimes (i.e. calling me 5 minutes before he leaves to tell me that we’re going to dinner). I know I should like surprises and spontaneity, but I just prefer to have plans. Although, having plans and then deciding to change them a bit, once I’m already there can be fun. I’m learning :)

Love your outfit!! I am totally spontaneous!!! I’m horrible with planning so I’m always running like a maniac, doing whatever comes my way!!

I’m usually a big planner- I like my lists and knowing where things are going. However I do sometimes get bursts of spontaneity in particular situations. :)

ugh I meant to ask for a frother for my birthday but I totally forget. Perhaps I could beg mama from a belated gift :)

I am the least spontaneous person ever. Must work on this :( Thanks for the inspiration, G!

motherhood = an experience in spontaneity!
no two days are the same, just about the time you plan on something, a crabby day happens. Just about the time you put your makeup on, someone falls and you’re not going out anyway. You’re going inside to put bandaids on.

Basically i have embraced this as much as i can the past 4 years :)

I really like spontaneity but only if I can have my morning routine. From the time I wake up until about 9am, I know what I’m going to do…..after that anything is game! haha
