I don’t care how many post titles I have saying “it’s good for the soul”…spontaneity really is!
I mean, today’s plans aren’t that spontaneous, but I sure am enjoying them.
Best friend (and the third leg of our tripod) Erica arrived last night to stay with me for a few days. Yay! She has an interview in the city today, and I planned on just working from home. But, with a job that allows me to work from anywhere, why not just go into the city and work from there? So that’s what I’m doing.
We got up extra early to take on the day…and the supposed ice storm that the entire world is up in arms about. But first – a homemade latte.

YUM. I’m so glad that I finally got myself an Aerolatte yesterday. I don’t think I’ve ever loved a kitchen appliance more.

Then, I got freshie fresh (i.e. working in something other than pajamas. Woohoo!).

The trains were a bit delayed, so we set up camp in a nearby coffee shop so I could get started on work.
…and then another coffee shop upon entering the city.

Plans for the rest of the day include…well, we haven’t made it that far yet. Dinner? Happy hour? Apartment shopping? 😉
Do you like spontaneity? Or does it stress you out?

Sadly spontaneity stresses me out sometimes, but I’m really trying to change that- I think it’s good to be flexible!
Working from a coffee shop sounds so delightful right now…
I love spontaneity! I’m not a planner. At all.
I am the biggest advocate for spontaneity you will ever meet. Even though I can be a huge planner, I always leave room for busting out of that plan and just going with the flow! That’s when having Larabars on hand at all times comes in handy:)
i hate to say it, but i’m a planner. i used to be much worse (read: couldn’t go anywhere without a plan!) but i’m getting better. tis definitely good for the soul!
Sometimes I love a little spontaneity, and sometimes I’m just not up for it. I have a snow day today, and my husband asked me to call our newly-met neighbors because they just might want to stop by. Well, I don’t want to- I want to stay in my pj’s and not wear a bra for as long as I want to!

I’m a huge planner, so spontaneity stresses me out a little. I used to not be so bad though. It’s something I’m working on and hope to feel more comfortable with eventually. My husband is the complete opposite…go figure!
Such a cute outfit!! Spontaneity can be fun, but I generally like order. I get a little stressed if there is too much going on that I haven’t planned for.

Please tell me where these boots, and the brown ones you have, are from! Love them!
Thanks girlie! The ones I’m wearing here are from Old Navy, but I got them last year :/ The brown ones are from Macy’s…they’re “Etienne Aigner.”
I always say I’m spontaneous, but I’m so totally not. I love structure and having plans set in place and knowing what to expect. It’s the Type A in me!!
I like being spontaneous! When I do plan too much it never works out ; )
Cute outfit girl - looks like something I would wear!

Working from coffee shops is SO much more exciting than working from home… I have to do it sometimes to keep my sanity
I like having a general outline of a plan, but I don’t flip out if things don’t go exactly how I thought they would - I think teaching taught me how to roll with the punches
Ohhh I really want one of those hand frothers! Do you have an espresso machine as well?
Nope I don’t :/ I wish! I just add coffee to my foamed milk and call it a latte 😉 hahaha
im a MEGA planner.. so it usually throws me off guard when surprises occur!! EXCEPT for surprise parties of course 😉

I’m a planner. It’s a problem. But I am getting better! Although sometimes I try to tell my BF we can plan a spontaneous date so I’m prepared for spontaneity….see, it’s a problem.

Having plans tends to stress me out WAY more than being spontaneous. I thrive on the unexpected!
Spontaneity stressed me out sometimes, and other times I love it. It probably depends what it is..
Love the outfit!
It stresses me out. My boyfriend does most things on a whim, so it does create some conflict sometimes (i.e. calling me 5 minutes before he leaves to tell me that we’re going to dinner). I know I should like surprises and spontaneity, but I just prefer to have plans. Although, having plans and then deciding to change them a bit, once I’m already there can be fun. I’m learning
Love your outfit!! I am totally spontaneous!!! I’m horrible with planning so I’m always running like a maniac, doing whatever comes my way!!
I love having my days planned out, so spontaneity kind of stresses me out. I’m trying to get better at just going with the flow though!

I’m usually a big planner- I like my lists and knowing where things are going. However I do sometimes get bursts of spontaneity in particular situations.
I really do like planning-but sometimes spontaneity is the way to go.
I need that frother! I’ve been wanting one for the longest time, but I forgot about it until now 😛
ugh I meant to ask for a frother for my birthday but I totally forget. Perhaps I could beg mama from a belated gift
I am the least spontaneous person ever. Must work on this
Thanks for the inspiration, G!
amen to spontenaiety! or however you spell it hahahaha
hope you had fun with the bestie and i hope she got the job!!
motherhood = an experience in spontaneity!
no two days are the same, just about the time you plan on something, a crabby day happens. Just about the time you put your makeup on, someone falls and you’re not going out anyway. You’re going inside to put bandaids on.
Basically i have embraced this as much as i can the past 4 years

I really like spontaneity but only if I can have my morning routine. From the time I wake up until about 9am, I know what I’m going to do…..after that anything is game! haha
I’m all about being spontaneous! Your blog has been really making me want to move to NYC lately too by the way
Hope your night ends well babe!
How much do I love your outfit?
A WHOLE FREAKING LOT.
LOVE your boots!!! Where are they from??? And yes, many things are good for the soul and it’s a good reminder!
