now I know my abc’s.

When I saw this alphabet survey circling the blog world, I naturally knew I had to ransack it. I mean, who what blogger doesn’t love answering questions about themselves? Let’s see here…

A. Age: 23 (but not for much longer!)

B. Bed size: queen.

C. Chore you hate: cleaning the bathroom in general is a horrid task. In fact, I’d literally rather get a root canal.

D. Dogs: love ‘em! BUT – I think I love cats just a wee bit more. AND I kind of can’t stand when people think you can only like one or the other.

E. Essential start to your day: I have to brush my teeth the moment I wake up. Then I spend time reading the Bible and praying.

F. Favorite color: dark purple/eggplant.

G. Gold or silver: ah, that’s a toughie. That’s why I love my watch – it includes both so I can mix and match the two.

H. Height: 5’3.

I. Instruments you play: nada. I played piano for almost 11 years before giving it up. Definitely a regret of mine!

J. Job title: Administrative Assistant and/or Communications Professional.

K. Kids: not a fan right now…

L. Live: NY…PA…always an East Coaster.

M. Mom’s name: Denise, aka Best Mom Evah.

N. Nicknames: Grace Face, Greasy, Gracie Girl, G-Money, and G (<— my favorite).

O. Overnight hospital stays: none.

P. Pet peeve: My biggest is definitely slow/bad walkers. I seriously cannot handle them and may need to walking-rage therapy for it. Others: when you make eye contact with someone you know but they look away like they didn’t see you, when people don’t use their turning signal, aaand know-it-alls.

Q. Quote from a movie: “Love is passion, obsession, someone you can’t live without. If you don’t start with that, what are you going to end up with? Fall head over heels. I say find someone you can love like crazy and who’ll love you the same way back. And how do you find him? Forget your head and listen to your heart. I’m not hearing any heart. Run the risk, if you get hurt, you’ll come back. Because, the truth is there is no sense living your life without this. To make the journey and not fall deeply in love - well, you haven’t lived a life at all. You have to try. Because if you haven’t tried, you haven’t lived.” – from Meet Joe Black.

R. Right or left handed: rightie.

S. Siblings: older sister, Katie.

T. Time you wake up: it varies from 6:30am to 8:30am, depending on the day.

U. Underwear: uh, what about it?

V. Vegetables you dislike: even though they’re technically not vegetables, I don’t like raw tomatoes or olives.

W. What makes you run late: traffic or simply losing track of time. Otherwise, I’m not usually late.

X. X-Rays you’ve had: hmm, good question. I’ve had a number of MRIs, but I think the only X-rays I’ve had were on my teeth.

Y. Yummy food you make: Cake Batter Blondies. And “meals for one” in general.

Z. Zoo- favorite animal: Tigers and monkeys.

Your turn! What I want to know is – what are your nicknames? And what are your pet peeves?

Comments

  1. says

Nicknames include Gramanda and the classic Mandy. Pet peeves: as a journalism major, I cringe whenever an excessive amount of exclamation points is used…but I get why people do it.

  2. says

My friends call me LeePee, which is very strange if you don’t know us. haha A big pet peeve of mine is also the slow/bad walking thing. Especially on a college campus where I feel like I am always rushing somewhere, I hate when people don’t move at a normal pace.

  3. says

I hate when people walk slow in front of me too- especially at the gym. you are there to workout! walk faster!

My pet peeve is when people have long conversations on their cell phones in public places.

  4. Gina G says

I have the same pet peeves! I also hate when I hear girls cut other girls down :(

One of my nicknames is G too! It is my favorite also! My other nicknames are GG, Gina Bina, Gean Bean, GinAH,….and believe it or not my Dad and brothers used to call me Snooki, but that was before Jersey Shore haha.

    Have a great day girl!

  5. Susan says

Those cake batter blondies look SO good! And you’re extremely photogenic - I’m jealous!

My pet peeve is when people facebook/tweet that they’re going to the gym, seriously I have so many people as friends that do this and it drives me nuts. Another pet peeve of mine is when people don’t flush the toilet after using it (gross….)

  6. says

Haha, I agree with all of your pet peeves. I HATE when people don’t use their turn signals and slow walkers drive me nutso. Both things turn me into a walking/driving ball of rage. :)

My friends all call me Ash, A, or LeeLee; my mom calls me Peanut; and my older brother has referred to me as Ashtray or Ash-hole since I was about 6(charming, I know).

  7. says

I am loving these Myspace-esque questionnaires. Takes me back to eighth grade. I have a lot of nicknames - one of my best friends and I call each other Mom, which seems weird but it just fits us. Also, Cait (naturally) Caiters, Pip, Meals, Princess (ugh) and Fresa.

I have a lot of pet peeves. How about leaving dirty dishes in the sink for days? Or washing your hands and leaving the sink a wet, sopping mess? Coughing and sneezing without covering their mouths? And let’s not forget parents letting their kids run amuck in a store or business. People often just have no manners. Can you tell I’ve worked in customer service a long time? :)

  8. says

People have also called my Grace Face, especially when I had braces, since it’s close to brace face I guess. Others are Gracie, Gracie-Poo, Lizzy( my real name is Elizabeth Grace, but no one calls me that), Liz, and my boyfriend calls me a million weird names like lumpkin and pook.

  9. says

I love filling these things out! When I was younger, I would waste hours filling them out and then never sending them because…I am not totally sure why.

Nicknames: Mar, Migs, and a huge list my husband calls me (princess, baby, babe, honey, etc,)

Pet Peeve: Anyone wearing PJ pants in public…especially guys. Interrupters. Being late.

  10. says

I love this! Reminds me of those notes on Facebook people do. I totally share your pet peeve of slow walkers, they drive me nuts! and when they make it hard to pass them.. oooooh even worse! I find people in the hallways at my school are awful at that! I totally did this on mine this morning.

  11. says

haha! It looks like today’s reader is full of this ABC thingy. I’ve done mine too! :-) I have tons of pet peeves but the latest one is the descriptions in twitter/facebook. rg. *snirks* *points to there* *laughs* you get the deal. If you cannot write it in a way to express that without the description you are doing something wrong!!!

  12. says

I’m the same way about cats&dogs - why can’t we love em both?! I do have a soft spot for kittens though.

I love calling people by their first initial: B, J, D, etc. I wish “M” sounded good plain but usually I just get called Mel (obvs), Mer, Boo, or something in conjunction with my last name :)

  13. says

We had similar answers to some of those ABC’s, like I cannot stand slow walkers either! And tigers are awesome :) I may have to get my first MRI soon and don’t know what to think of it!

  14. says

I hate slow walkers too! It drives me crazy. Another pet peeve of mine is when people chew their food with their mouth open or chomp their gum really loudly.

  15. says

    I did this today too!
    1. My nicknames are Stoonball, Stoons, Cbrad, and Bear
    2. I hate when people wait until they are all the way out of a parking spot to start turning their wheel and then they get stuck. I also hate it when people don’t use adverbs.

  16. says

I love this ABC’s post! My nicknames are Sarahbear and dove (my bf randomly calls me that). Pet peeve: when people drive to close behind me!

Those blondies look amazing! I’m definitely going to have to try out that recipe! :)

  17. says

Oh my goodness I HATE slow walkers! We can go to slow walkers rage therapy together, totally fine. Anywhos, we are the same heigh basically, I am 5’2″ and a quarter, and have not grown in six years! I lurve being a midget!

  18. says

Urgh, slow walkers get me agitated too.
Especially when you’re at an already crowded mall and the people in front of you are slower than slugs! (Do I sound mean? Haa :P)
