I could get used to this.

Usually, my weekdays look a little bit like this: wake up, eat, work, eat, work, exercise, shower, eat, watch TV, go to bed. And, I’m by myself 99% of the time.

Sort of sad, isn’t it? That’s why I could really get used to days like the past few happening more often.

After working and making a quick pit stop at the gym, Erica and I put on our Thursday bests and headed back into the city.

Jeans: TJ Maxx. Top: New York & Company. Belt: Forever 21. Boots: Old Navy.

Erica: pure sass.

Despite having dinner plans, train ride snacks were a must.

Thankfully that didn’t spoil our appetite, though, because our meal at Matsuri in Chelsea was a superb one. We met up with Gabriela and Amanda for what would be my first-ever (hopefully of many) NYC Restaurant Week experience.

With Restaurant Week, you get a three course meal for just $35. The menus are typically shorter and more selective than usual, but there were still a good deal of delicious options to choose from.

First, we started with some edamame on the house.

Then it was onto the first course. I went with a house salad – watercress, hijiki, scallops, and soy dressing. It was great! Very flavorful.

For the second course I ordered the Sushi Assortment – shrimp, tuna, yellowtail, salmon, and eel roll.

Sushi is one of my favorite foods, but I haven’t had it in forever. Each bite was seriously better than the last.

And for dessert? I went with the Green Tea Tiramisu, which came with Red Bean Ice Cream.

I don’t usually venture out in the flavor department when it comes to dessert, but this was seriously out of this world good. The tiramisu was perfectly light and fluffy. My only complaint would be that it was too small!

As usual, the company was pretty stellar. I love these ladies!

Sure, not every day can be filled with my best friends and upscale Japanese meals, but a girl can dream, can’t she? :)

What does your usual weekday look like?

My weekdays are pretty much the same as yours… wake up, eat while driving to school, work (teach Kindergarten), work out (either gym or power yoga), shower, dinner with the husband, watch tv with husband, read, bed.

Throw some chores in there either before or after the workout, and that’s my Mon-Thurs.

    Your sushi looked amazing!

Yeah mine can get pretty repetitive! That’s why it makes you appreciate doing something different though :) Still waiting for those NYC pictures!! 😀

Yayy last night was so fun! My schedule depends entirely on the day. I’m either up and at ’em by 5:45, or stay asleep till 7 and then just hang out all morning. If I don’t have class I’m pretty much a waste of space haha.

My days are always different, I envy the consistency you have in your life!! I do know that working out in the evenings work better for me 😉

You have such pretty friends. :)

Mine routine is: coffee, shower, dress, b’fast, work, lunch, work, cook dinner, son’s homework, misc housework, fall asleep on the couch, drag myself to bathroom to brush/floss, sleep. repeat.

    lol

Same as yours! wake up, eat, work, eat, workout, eat..i work from home too, it has its benefits (rolling out of bed three minutes before work begins) and its negatives..the solitude! i picked up a second job as a waitress totally because I moved to a new city and needed to meet people!

It depends on the day since I’m still in school. Mon. and wed. include lots of alone time, which I don’t mind at all, followed by lots of class. Tues. and thurs. include going to my internship which= lots of talking with my intern friends! My weekends are never really the same either. I like routine but never get a chance to really develop one a consistent one=)

    My weekdays are jam-packed!
wake up. workout. eat. intern (or class). eat. study. eat. sleep.
I’m by myself for the most part during them too =[ I def know what you mean about having friends around! It makes all the difference.

My weekdays are usually super lame too. I get up at 6:45, eat breakfast, go to class until either 11:30 or 2, eat lunch somewhere in there, go to the gym, shower, do homework, eat dinner, do more homework, blog, sleep. 😛

It’s always fun to spice it up and have fun with friends duirng the week!

I know this is a slightly older post, but I thought I would comment anyways!
My week days I spend 99% alone too!
I just got married…4 months ago and my husband owns his own business and so he would rather me stay at home and do paperwork and help him out rather then get my own job.
Occasionally I start to feel sorry for myself and think that I have no friends and nothing to do and blah blah blah, but then I try and rememeber that I have this time in my life for a reason! Not many 21 yearolds get to be stay-at-home wifes! So I try to enjoy cleaning the house and doing laundry and just having the time to go to the gym and the freedom to help out friends at a moments notice. Many days I am not thankful for the opportunity I have, but it is totally gods plan for my life right now!
Anyways, I hope you enjoy your time alone! and living and learning. I think stepping outside your comfort zone and breaking out on your own is when you learn the most!
I could talk forever about this haha!

      Hey Marie!!
You are absolutely right - you are at that point in your life for a reason and a purpose…we all are!! I’m sure God has something amazing in store for you. And the truth is that plenty of girls would love to be in the position you’re in right now. You are so blessed to have found love at such a young age - I envy you in that sense! I think that this is a great time for you to take pleasure in the alone time and use it to grow as a person, you know?
Take care, sweetie, and thanks for the thoughtful comment! xoxo G
