One of the perks (or downsides, depending on your personality) of working from home is that it allows for much more multi-tasking than when working from an office. Like today, for instance, where I cleaned my apartment top to bottom while still remaining caught up with work.
First, I threw on my classy cleaning uniform.

Then I grabbed my lifesaver: Cindy the Swiffer Sweeper.

Clearly working from home also makes one lonely enough to name inanimate objects. Ahem.
I mopped. I scrubbed. I vacuumed. I dusted.
Well…I thought I dusted. But apparently I “Scrubbing Bubbled” the majority of the apartment with what I thought was Pledge. Oops 😕

So fresh and so clean, clean!

As great as it is to have a spotless apartment, cleaning kind of…sucks. I can’t even imagine having to clean an entire house! *cringes*
To keep the homemaker-ball rolling, I decided to bake a (half) batch of Gabriela’s Vegan Pumpkin Muffin Tops.

I thought about de-veganizing them since that’s what I tend to do best, but I resisted. Since I’m Earth Balance-less, though, I subbed in a small banana instead. It worked great!

Yep, baking is definitely my favorite aspect of homemaking. Now pardon me while I create a savings account so I can hire a cleaning lady…
How often do you clean your living quarters??

Ummm I probably shouldn’t answer that question. Let’s just say it starts with “r” and ends with “arely.”
I’m impressed that the sub worked so well….I need to try that the next time I make them!! Glad you’re enjoying them, my dear
I clean once a week, save for under the bed. That’s a job for when I’m REALLY motivated.
Well since I still live with my parents my Mom and I both do the cleaning. We try to “straighten up” every 2-3 days and do a real deep cleaning every other week or so.
You little homemaker!! Cleaning and baking!!
Once a week. So much easier to manage that way!
Almost everything gets cleaned once a week except the kitchen floor. I’ll sweep it, but I HATE mopping it. I have a Swiffer guy, but I really like to mop on my hands and knees and it just hurts
I’m spoiled a bit…my mom pays for a housekeeper to come clean my house every 2 weeks, which is fabulous because she’ll do all the things I really don’t want to do, and then I maintain it between. Mop the floors at least once a week, even when she comes (ESPECIALLY now with my roommate tracking in snow and slush despite me constantly asking to take the shoes off at the door..ick). My own bedroom, on the other hand, gets cleaned…um…refer to Jessica’s comment for that one.
I should be cleaning my living quarters WAY more than I actually do…my room is a messy mess! Slash it’s totally fine, I’ve named my computer Adele and my Droid is named Lulu. No big.
p.s. Those muffie tops look so yummy! Time for me to get my bake onn:)
I usually clean a few things a day. I’m not sure if that’s better than cleaning all at once, but it seems to work for me.

I looooooooove your rug!!! Where did you find it?

Mmm those cookies look delicious. I’m trying to get in the habit of cleaning once a week? I love my swiffer so much!

such a perk for working from home! how often do I clean? not enough! haha
Either Saturday or Sunday mornings I do my cleaning for the week. Then every few weeks I do a more in depth cleaning 😉
I clean a few times a week and then we have cleaners come in every 3 weeks. I never thought I’d be the type, but it’s a life saver and time saver!
I try to tackle one little thing every week day. It seems way easier than spending hours cleaning on a Saturday or Sunday, as many I know do!
Ha, probably not enough. I hateee cleaning.
I can’t complain my parents clean the house lol Those cookies look divine!

Since I have a tiny apartment, I’m always cleaning and it’s always clean. Messes, spills, dust, ect. distract me unless they are clean. My roommate=the exact opposite….but she is my best friend and I love her so I forgive her for her ways (and sometime clean up her messes), haha.
While I definitely let the dusting and vacuuming go a little longer than I’d like, I cannot go to bed if there is clutter everywhere. And my bathroom sink must be wiped down. Also I get extremely happy when I wash my rug in the bathroom and it’s all fluffy.
I’m weird.
I’m obsessed with your blue and brown theme. I’m rocking the same thing in my room. It’s so in right now.. at least that’s what I like to tell myself.
My roommates and I switch off each Sunday and clean the whole apartment!
I have a cleaning lady who comes once a month. She actually came today. There is nothing better than coming home from work and stepping into a spotless house that I didn’t have to lift a finger to clean!
My roommate and I try to clean up as we go, then do a deep cleaning maybe once a month. And we let the roomba loose about once a week. I seriously <3 roomba.
i try to do a solid scrub down once a week! i like to know that i can walk around barefoot without getting paranoid… but I’m also a little bit of a freak, haha.
p.s. i love that rug
I love cleaning…it just makes me feel so good and…clean haha! Swiffers are a gift from God, seriously.
Love that you name inanimate objects. I also find myself getting into this weird habit where I talk to the object I’m using; not like talking to myself just saying things like “Pot, why won’t you boil?” or “Chapstick, where are you?”
Props for cleaning! That’s definitely on my to-do list. Woops.
Vegan Pumpkin Muffin Tops? Count me in! They look so healthy and filling - what a perfect snack for class!

I clean every day! not everything top to bottom daily, but i am always touching up. I have a small child. (and a husband). They make things messy and i hate messes
I should clean more often - especially because I feel so much better when the house is nice
mm i need to make those muffin tops!
I’m one of three roommates and the only one that ‘cleans’. I try to do it every week or two otherwise i know it’s dirty and it bothers me! Those muffins look yummy and I still have a can of pumpkin left=)

I put off cleaning til the weekend usually. But tonight the house is spotless! I stayed up after cleaning (its 1 am) to make CAKE BATTER BLONDIES! They look like they will be sinful and delicious!
im impressed! cleaning is so not my game….
ahh i love the moistness of those muffin tops!
Umm I probably shouldn’t answer that question because I definitely don’t clean as often as I should! 😛 I do love the feeling of a freshly cleaned apartment though! It’s just hard to motivate myself to clean when I know my roommates will mess it up about 3 seconds later haha!
I love your rug!! Where is it from?
thanks! Home Depot
Those muffin tops look great! I clean up clutter like mail or the dishes daily but I overhaul my apartment every two weeks or so. I agree with what you said, that cleaning kinda sucks, haha.
I should clean my house more than I do, but I just don’t have the time. I usually dust/vaccuum once a week, but scrub everything down every two. ::cringes::
I actually really like to clean (and cook/bake), but I’m often running low on energy for it during the week- so it usually waits til the weekend. That drives me a little batty sometimes, but I try to let it go mentally til I can get to it physically.
